New Location with Growing Pains — Needs Service Tweaks

This Shipley’s location appears to be fairly new, and while it has potential, there are definitely some kinks that still need to be worked out.

There’s very limited indoor seating, which makes it clear this is intended more as an order-and-go spot rather than a dine-in experience. That’s fine, but even so, our order took close to 10 minutes to be prepared, which felt long given the light foot traffic at the time. It was also a Saturday morning, when you’d expect more staff and smoother operations.

We were told they were out of a few items, which is somewhat understandable for a new location still gauging demand—but still disappointing. Service overall was slow and reactive rather than proactive. For example, we had to ask for napkins, inquire about where to get sugar, and request that they heat up our kolaches, which ideally should have been done without prompting.

Staff were polite, but the interaction felt more like “here’s your order” than engaged customer service. It would’ve made a big difference if someone had said, “Here’s your coffee—condiments are over there—let us know if you need anything else.”

It’s clear they may not have anticipated the volume of customers, and there were only a couple of employees working, which left the pace slow and the experience underwhelming.

Final thoughts: We may return if we’re in the area again, but our expectations will be higher moving forward. A few simple adjustments—faster service, better prep, and more proactive customer care—would go a long way toward making this location shine.

Terrible service and customer service! We only go there because my daughters love the donuts, but the service from the girl who works there is awful. She always makes us wait at the drive-thru and never gives us what we order! I’ve given her several chances, but her service is truly terrible, and she’s rude!

Ordered online for the first time and got less than good service. I sat there for 20 minutes after my order ready time waiting. Meanwhile I only ordered $25 worth of donuts. And they didn’t have all of the items I initially ordered. If I ever return I’ll most likely order at the counter for faster service. Hopefully they get additional staffing because they aren’t keeping up with demand.

Please tell workers to change their gloves. The worker used the same glove to grab donuts, ring up the order, and kept it on even when she was done ringing up. Mind you, she had this same glove on when I entered the place. There is no telling how long she had this glove on before I walked in.

Donuts were decent. All were pretty cold, though. Server took about 2 minutes just to come to the drive thru. Was about to drive off. Dude didn’t even bother to warm anything up either. He was friendly, though. Had a so-so experience.

That Caroline girl upfront needs work. After that it she was extremely unresponsive. I did not seem like she wanted to be there, rolled her eyes before coming over to help me. after that I noticed the kolache’s and donuts were both extremely old. will not be back.

My daughter wanted donut holes for her birthday for breakfast before school. I went through the drive-thru and ordered the donut holes. I asked for them to be warmed. Not only were they NOT warmed but THEY WERE STALE AND TASTED LIKE THEY WERE FROM 3 DAYS AGO. I have never experienced that at the Shipley near Walmart. I expected much more from a new neighborhood Shipley. Highly disappointed! This store is too new and unbusy to not have fresh and warm food.
