Just tried this place for the first time after wanting to forever. I love Sushi but my mom doesn’t and they have plenty of options other than sushi and she loved her yakisoba dish. The sushi was some of the best I’ve had and super fresh. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious too. It’s understandingly expensive because it is sushi but it’s the perfect restaurant in Stanwood or in general for special occasions, dates, and etc. Definitely worth every penny and we didn’t have to wait for a table. The waitress was super nice and helpful too.

This place was popular and for good reason. We were lucky enough to get a seat without a wait and had great service. We started with the Monkey Brains that we saw a review about. It was okay, just not for me. We then demolished a Camano roll. That was delicious! I’d get that again, I really liked the taste of the scallops on them.

I have been here multiple times for dine in and carry out. The sushi is amazing, the fish is very fresh, and it always leaves us excited to come back again. The calamari is the best I have ever had! It is NEVER overcooked, it is tender and delicious every time.

Shima is gem of a sushi restaurant! Excellent quality, super tasty, and great staff! We are regulars and have never had anything but amazing meals. When friends come to town, Shima is where we take them. When there is a special occasion, Shima is where we go – and they make fabulous large platters for parties too! So thankful to have this top notch sushi restaurant in our little town!

This place is such a gem in Stanwood, hands down the best restaurant in the area. My husband and I go here for any excuse to celebrate, treat ourselves, and stuff our faces with this amazing sushi. I haven’t had anything besides the sushi (why would I?!) but I’m sure it’s equally amazing. Big city quality food in little Stanwood, you won’t be disappointed!

Had a wonderful dinner at Shima. The sushi was fresh, delicious and came out fast. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The seating was well spaced but limited to first come, first served so be ready for a wait if you arrive at a busier time. It is very much worth the wait.

Best sushi place I have ever been to! Their food is exquisite & the service, fantastic. I could not recommend them more! Their seared salmon sushi is like butter, melts in your mouth, and I love their spider rolls, YUM!

This restaurant is a Stanwood gem. This was our first time here and the dining area was well decorated and packed with guests. Our waitress Ellie was so kind, attentive, and professional. The sake was chilled and delicious; we got the “nothingness” one. We got a California roll as an appetizer. We could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the premium soy sauce was a perfect addition. Our miso soup was hot and tasty. I got a combination plate of chicken Teriyaki and chicken katsu. It came with salad, rice, and gyoza. The Teriyaki sauce reminded me more of a tangy / vinegar Korean Barbecue sauce. I did not like it that much, but eating it with rice helped a lot. The katsu had a wonderful crispy crunch. Both chickens were very juicy and tender as well. The gyoza were so light, yet crispy and dense. Probably the best gyoza I’ve ever had in my life. My wife got the chicken yakisoba and loved it. The noodles were thick yet chewey, the chicken was sliced and moist, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly: not soggy, not too tough and the flavors blended perfectly. Overall, it was a great time and meal, though the tab was given to us before we could ask for dessert, so I’m not sure if they are serving any currently. Maybe next time we will be more courageous to ask ahead of time!
