Frequent customer here! I’m a local student, and I’ve celebrated all of my special occasions at Shiki. The sushi is consistently the best in the entire state of Alabama, without fail. At Shiki, good news is always served alongside incredible sushi. The chefs and owners truly take pride in what they do, and it shows in the way they treat their customers, taking the time to learn our names and even our family members. Every visit feels personal, welcoming, and unforgettable.

The Ocean Roll and coconut tofu soup were really good. I never would have thought to put jalapenos with calamari but that was surprisingly good as well. I didn’t try the shrimp hibachi but my son liked it. We’ll definitely be back.

This is a fairly newer restaurant and I’m upset I didn’t know about it sooner. My boyfriend and I went in tonight for dinner to which we were not disappointed! The service was excellent, giving us lots of time to decide, offering quick refills without being asked, as well as starting nice conversation. The outside of the restaurant does not do justice to the nicely decorated and lively interior. The sushi was very fresh and we were even close enough to partially see it being made. Our favorite was the Last Call roll!! The tofu in the veggie delite was one of the best I’ve ever tasted in a restaurant. We highly recommend eating here, wether it be a Thai dish or sushi that you try, it will be delicious regardless.

If you’re craving quality sushi or Thai food in Tuscaloosa, look no further than Shiki’s! Located in the old Tokyo spot, this gem is an absolute must-try. As someone who’s a bit of a sushi and Thai snob (yes, I’ve been to Thailand, and yes, I want my Thai food done right), I was seriously impressed.
Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu has a great variety, and I was thrilled to find out they’re open for both lunch and dinner (just not on Mondays — fair enough). Lunch runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner picks back up from 4 to 9 p.m.
And the cherry on top? They deliver through Uber Eats! Game changer. My little girl and I were both excited — her for the noodles, me for the spider roll… my husband had Pad Thai and my job adventurous eater ate chicken and fries ♀️ Shiki’s just earned a permanent spot on our go-to list. It’s a bit hidden so I’m including pics Don’t sleep on this place, Tuscaloosa — it’s a win.

Delicious food and excellent customer service. Kadek, our server, was great! I recommend the volcano roll. I got it without without eel sauce. Definitely one of the top ten rolls I’ve ever eaten! This restaurant is a hidden gem.
Update: I went back with my family and everyone enjoyed it!! In my opinion, This is definitely one of the best sushi restaurants!!

We had the hibachi chicken, steak and shrimp, it was fantastic! We also tried the basil rolls as an appetizer and they were very good. The peanut sauce that the basil rolls came with was some of the best I have had. The staff were welcoming and attentive, I highly recommend this place!

My daughter and I tried out Shiki tonight. The sushi was well presented and fresh. The chicken bento boxes were both well seasoned and perfectly grilled… The service was warm and friendly. Definitely will be returning soon to experience the live hibachi grill with the whole crew…
