The food was great. My husband got the Sea food bowl and I got the Traditional bowl, both were fantastic. Good portion sizes and pretty typical price for ramen. Love the Shiba theme. Wish we could have met the pups but all the more reason to go back again.
The staff is very friendly, tons of seating, and pretty wide range price wise on what you would like to spend.

We have a pretty low budget for dining out, but when we do this place is probably at the top of the list. $18 or more for a bowl of “soup” seems pretty expensive, but WOW what a meal. I let my wife figure out the ordering, but the “Yooper Bowl” with some extra vegetables is awesome. Big chunks of meat in there, corn, and all kinds of other tasty stuff. I like fairly spicy food, and the red oily pepper-seedy stuff they have to add on your own really brings out the flavor, but even for me it is easy to add too much. The free pop refills come in handy sometimes. We like the whole setup and atmospere of the place — it has been (lightly) converted from the cafeteria or dining hall of the now-defunct Finlandia University. Our 3 kids love eating here as well, but I’m the only one in the family who can actually finish these large bowls of food. And best of all, it is right down the hill from our house!

We love the cozy and welcoming vibe. This is an innovative business our community really needed! We love how family friendly it is. Our kids love to pick a game and play while they wait, devour a bowl of noodles (and veggies – bonus!), and draw on the dry erase board. I love that there’s a baby play pen and high chairs throughout the restaurant.

Although my group and I found the menu to be very confusing, I did absolutely love the ramen! I got the yoop bowl and found it to be delicious in every way. My partner is vegetarian and had a hard time ordering since tofu didn’t count as a protein, otherwise a very tasty meal and definitely recommend.

This was the most delicious meal in the Keweenaw; all fresh ingredients, made to order, it’s basically a “build your own” bowel with multiple gluten free options. Don’t let the lack of a clear menu online scare you away. The restaurant has a cafeteria like feel, welcome to anyone with lots of space to have a quiet meal. We got ours to go and that worked, although each serving so much foodI wish we had one of those giant dishes used to serve it in the restaurant. My personal combo was delicious, Wheat noodles, mushroom broth, pork belly, steak, (both proteins were soooo delicious) bok choy, carrots, corn, green onions. The Japanese Cheesecake was an incredible delicacy that took it all to a higher level of dining.

A great must try place to get ramen and other Japanese-American food. Good service and a large dining area. I personally like the basic bowl ($10) or two appetizers ($10) since they are enough for a full meal. My only small issue is that sometimes the pork belly is too fatty, and some of the toppings aren’t as good as others. Would be nice to have some rice options too. Overall a good option for lunch or dinner in Hancock.
