Friday Night, I had the 2 piece Catfish Dinner it came with Corn Nuggets, Slaw, Beans, hush puppies, pickled Tomatoes and a side of choice. I got the side salad. I had so many leftover cause I was stuffed. The catfish was the best I have ever eaten…. This is a place you must go eat at. The atmosphere is like no other, smiling faces, and just great people all the way around.

We selected this place based on local only. Cute and clean. Order a breakfast bowl, eggs over medium and a coffee with milk. My coffee was served in a soup bowl and given a little Togo container of Creamer not milk…whatever….but when my meal came out and my eggs were hard and zero yolk running…I asked for some gravy to help since I have a medical condition that requires my meals to have some moisture. Holy Hell the waitress threw a fit. “YOU ordered your eggs that way!” I replied no maam I asked for over medium and these are hard. She then continued like a two year old, “Gravy is EXTRA!” Ok well then I’ll pay for it but I still need it. The owner tells her to just make new eggs and give me the gravy. I repeated that I didn’t want new eggs just gravy and I didn’t mind paying the difference. They flat ignored me except for the waitress to come and slam a bowl of gravy on the table. It ruined the entire meal. She then stands to the side and say, “I have to go outside and Gather my head because ewwwwweeerrr!” Probably the best thing she did because I had to remind myself I had prayed before over my meal and Jesus wouldn’t be happy with me telling her how I felt. I kept quiet ate what I could and my husband and I left very disappointed and dissatisfied with the behavior of the staff. It’s a shame the owner allows that behavior in front of her, and that the chef cannot even serve a happy meal because the wait staff serves it angry. I hope she has the day she deserves and finds another job away from customer service. Shame that represents this little cute cafe. Attached is a picture of my “over medium” eggs.

My friend ‘Angie’ been wanting me to come to this cafe to eat.
My hubby and I joined her and her hubby for the New years special.
Greens, black eye peas, ham steak potatoes and jalepeno corn bread.
Mmmmmmmmmm delicious, soul food, comfort food, excellent food! A real treat. Hubby had buffalo chicken n onion rings.
Atmosphere was homely. Service was very good.
This is a hidden treasure. You can drive right on by. Stop in. You won’t regret.

What a nice surprise! We stopped in for breakfast and it was great. The food was fresh, staff was helpful and the place was clean. Even the restroom. I ate my food before I could get a picture. I had eggs over medium, with a homemade biscuit, bacon and fried potatoes. Awesome. I love breakfast but don’t eat it that often. If you are in the area, you have to stop in and try something on the menu.

Just an honest review from my first experience. I have been wanting to give this place a try as it is just a couple miles from home and was craving a cheeseburger. Everyone was very polite, the restaurant is clean and a very nice place to sit down and enjoy a bite.

The burger was really good! This was my first time eating here so I can’t knock it. Everything on it was fresh, the pickles were delish but I would have asked for mayo instead of mustard. (It’s just my preference) The fries are homemade, not overly salted but maybe a little on the oily side.

Service was fair, they were nice, spoke kindly and chatted with what I guess were mostly regulars. Could have been a little more attentive but overall I have no major complaints.

The only thing I do wish this place had was it’s own drink service area like most small diners. If the tea and the soda fountain were accessible to the patrons, I feel this would have helped as I was rather thirsty and my drink glass hit bottom more than once.

Shaynes is a solid 4, and with more visits I hope to revisit this review and put that fifth star there. Great place and will certainly be back.

This quaint diner is home to a simple, yet elegant menu and full of rustic, country charm. The staff are lively, welcoming and courteous. When visiting, I had the BLT with an added fried egg and breakfast potatoes. The BLT was absolutely delicious. At first, I thought the potatoes, while beautifully cooked, may have been over seasoned. I was wrong. The potatoes cook and flavor allowed them to stand on their own as a powerful sidepiece to the perfect breakfast sandwhich. I will definitely be coming back.

My sister ate at this place on Thursday, she enjoyed it so much she brought me on Friday to give it a try. The outside has a nice big porch with tables and chairs to sit at. Walking in the vibe was very welcoming. The smells, decoration, the older gentlemen sitting around talking. It felt like I walked into someone’s home on an early Saturday morning. Eventually we learned that location use to be her grandfather’s house.
The young lady who took our order was very sweet and polite. Come to find out she is the owner. My sister and I both ordered the loaded breakfast burritos. The owners mom brought our food to our table. She was also really sweet.
The burrito was delicious. It had crispy potatoes, 2 types of sausage, bacon and eggs. It also came with a small container of the freshest salsa. It was very filling and full of flavor. I could only eat half. Later in the evening I warmed the other half up and devoured it.

I am looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

Such a cute place with smiling faces and a welcoming environment. Our first visit and we got the burger, tots, and loaded fries. We also got some key lime pie and an ice cream cone. The cone was FREE!! Their baked goods are so tempting. Only point is everything needed a little (ok a lot) more seasoning. I support it and we’ll be back!
