We were looking for something halal at Myrtle Beach and unfortunately stumbled upon Shawarma’s King.
At 9:05 p.m. on a Saturday night, the place was completely deserted, which should have been a warning sign. As soon as we walked in to order takeout, I had a bad feeling it was a mistake.
We placed an order for four meals. The older gentleman at the counter who took our order was friendly and talkative, but when I asked why there were no customers on a weekend night, he simply said, “It’s off season.” While waiting, I used the men’s restroom, and the smell of urine was overwhelming — very unpleasant.
When the food arrived, the presentation looked nice, but don’t be fooled. The meat was dry, tasted old, and sauces over the food tasted weird, overall the food was just terrible. On top of that, it’s very expensive for what they have to offer, making it even more disappointing.
This was our first and definitely the last visit to Shawarma’s King.

Very clean place, well taken care of. They were very short staffed so it took a little longer for the food to come out but it was worth the wait!! Food looked and tasted amazing. Very authentic felt like I was back home. I hope his business grows he deserves it. الله يعطيك العافية يا عم

The chef is very kind. We got in late but he still accommodated our party of three with carry outs. Beautiful floor. Haven’t tried the food yet but already sold for the service and welcome! Thank you.

Upon walking into this Mediterranean place. You see the chicken and beef on the skewer. Mr. Ollie was a complete delight, encouraging and upbeat. We had an absolute wonderful time there and the food oh the food is to die for. I haven’t had such wonderful Mediterranean food like that in 20 years. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent middle eastern food here in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I own a Middle Eastern food truck and I approve of this restaurant. Everything was super fresh, tasty, and authentic this actually tasted like what I had when I was in the Middle East. Super friendly owners and excellent food give this place a try.

We walked in to an empty restaurant, no host or cashier was in place. We waited for about 7 minutes, then had to go into the kitchen and get someone from the staff. The cook was very nice and friendly. The food was ok but pricy for such a small portion. However I noticed one more thing, when I walked into the kitchen, the cook was washing the meet in a sink without container or plate or anything, right in the sink and without gloves on, I hope it was a sink for meat wash only… am I coming back ? Definitely not.

It was quiet and eerie and didn’t look open. Food was freshly prepared and tasted good. Friendly service and he did play some Fairuz for us to liven it up a bit. It’s $20 an hour to park a block away so I would go only if in the area and not for a special trip to eat there.

I was very disappointed with my visit. The person preparing my food was not wearing gloves, which felt unhygienic. On top of that, my dish had mostly vegetables instead of the chicken I ordered. Definitely not worth the experience, and I hope management addresses these issues.
