We love going to Shapla Spice. It’s just really good food. We decided to have a sit down meal this time but we have had takeaway and it’s never let us down. It’s also a bring your own booze establishment so don’t forget that when you visit.

First time ordering from here and it was absolutely delicious! Food was very fresh and hot and great quality products the king prawns were very juicy! Dave’s chips were the best !! Absolutely unreal! Delivery service was very prompt and officiants.

The gentleman who answered the phone to take my order was incredibly polite and told me it would be delivered in 45 minutes. 35 minutes later the food was delivered by another very polite man. The food was hot and tastes delicious. Will be ordering again! Thank you

Went as a table of 6, got poppadoms quickly but our main course we waited over 45 minutes for. The restaurant was full and only 2 people had food, very busy handing out takeaway orders. Table of 3 next to us asked when their food would be arriving so I good opportunity to do the same, the young waiter told the senior person, but no apologies or an eta. The young waiter just came back and said “I’ve told them”. Food arrived and it was beautiful. Bill came to £199 for 6 so was a decent price for 3 rice, 3 naan, 6 dishes and Daves chips. Was a shame on service as we had a friend from Australia visiting and wanted her to experience a curry in England.

This is an honest review of Shapla Spice take away. Ordered on Saturday 24th May. Food arrived over an hour late. Food was cold. The chicken chilli stir fry though cold tasted delicious. The onion bhaji’s ok. Only 2 poppadoms broken into pieces. Pickles good. Veg samosas greasy unappetising. Garlic and mushroom fried rice, ok. Chicken Tikka Naga and Chicken balti not good Chicken tasted stale and was hard. Peshawari naan ok. Cost £43.50.
Very very disappointed won’t be using again.

We went to Shapla because Katmandu was closed what a mistake. We were shown to a table and just left, we had to ask to place our order, we managed to get some poppadoms, then had to ask again to place our order, this time we got some drinks, we asked for a third time to place our order but the waiters were more interested in the telephone orders for take aways. By this time we had enough and left. Terrible service, we can’t rate the food because we didn’t get any. We won’t be going back and I wouldn’t recommend it based on our experience.

This is hands down the best Indian in Ripley. We have been going for years and never had a bad meal. We have both take away and sit down meals and I can’t say a bad thing about this place. If you’ve never been before it’s well worth trying Dave’s chips from there and the Chicken Tikka Chasni is a favourite of ours. Much love from Mr Richard
