Hadn’t been here since pre covid. It’s a neighborhood bar with some great food and has been around for years. It’s a simple menu with soup, salsa, burgers, steak, sandwiches, fish. I had the Philly steak with dries and dad had the Italian fish with fries and claw slaw. We both had a couple beers. Food was really good and so was the service.
Would highly recommend coming here to help keep them afloat. They are usually jammed and unfortunately they were a little empty. So please support them.
Plenty of parking, handicap parking, dimly lit and must have karaoke throughout the week or a dj for music. Both and tables are available.

The only reason this dive-bar garnered three stars is due to the friendly waitress, great prices & the fact my mom & our neighbor liked their dinners. The “special” I had of “cajun cod” consisted of a small portion of undercooked fish, bland frozen mixed veggies & a microwaved baked potato that was as dry as the Sahara. The archaic decor is pretty cool & cozy. I’d be willing to give it another shot. I should have complained about my terrible meal, but for ten bucks I didn’t feel too ripped off.

One of the last bastions of the atmosphere and prices that working class 9 mile and Ryan deserves. Truly a relic. Will be sad to see prices increase and decor change but such is life. I wish this place the best in whatever iteration is to come. Viva la Shantie!

My family and I tried to eat here tonight. We walked in (not at all greeted). I asked a waitress if we seat ourselves and she said yes. We choose a booth and sat down. The same 3 waitresses walked passed our table multiple times. One woman said she’d get us cleaned up soon. After about 5-10 minutes waiting, another group of people walked in and sat at the table next to us. They were immediately greeted and handed menus. That’s when we decided to leave.

Our waitress was so kind and the staff were very helpful as a team! And I can’t forget to cook because the food was very good. The portions were enough that I took some home. It’s a nice restaurant bar sit down atmosphere to enjoy time with your friends family and loved ones.

I went in on a Saturday night. When I walked in there was no bartender behind the bar. I sat at the bar for over 5 minutes before even seeing a bartender and then she went around to everyone who had been there before asking what I needed. The beer on tap was not very cold. The overall look of the place was very dingy and outdated. They had karaoke going which wasn’t bad. I ordered the perch which was good but even though they weren’t very busy it took quite a while for me to get it. I also had the “homemade” chili which didn’t taste homemade. The bartender moved very slowly at all times and kept disappearing from behind the bar. The customers sitting at the bar appeared to be extremely drunk and were being over served in my opinion. There are many great reviews about this place that’s why I decided to try them out. Based on my experience when I went in I will not be back.

Went for a small get together for my 50th birthday party on a Wednesday. There were only a few regulars enjoying their evening so it was pretty slow. The food was great as always, the service was Ok.
