Stopped at this cute little diner yesterday for breakfast.
It was so awesome to walk in and see a playpen set up next to the cash register.
It was the definition of true family style restaurant. Something about it just made my heart beam.
The food was fantastic. Just like your dad would serve you when you are a little girl.
The diner was clean friendly and everything you could want out of a small little family style restaurant.
If you have not been to this hidden I highly recommend trying it.

Honestly, it doesn’t look like “much” but that’s the draw for us! Good honest folks serving home cooked food. The food looks like anything you could make at home if you know how to cook, but the FLAVOR is there!

We had been hearing about this place for quite some time and decided to make the small trek (about 25 minutes) from Newark to Thornville late this morning. What a great little “pit stop!” The service was absolutely wonderful, and the other patrons were super nice (which is great considering that it’s a small place and you sit pretty close to one another!). One of us ordered breakfast and the other two ordered lunch, and we were all very pleased. Down-home cooking with daily specials, and you can tell they take pride in their offerings. Super reasonable price, around $30 for three of us. We will definitely be back!

Pretty nice little road-side diner sitting by itself in the countryside. Good food at a good value.
The good: Breakfast food was delicious, huge pancakes, staff was friendly and Shannon herself was working the grill.
The bad: It’s basically a big open room so if you want a quiet place, this isn’t it. On the day we visited the place was slammed and service was slower than average.

I only come here when I visit my granddaughters. As it’s 2+hours from my house in S Akron Ohio. I always make sure I stop in. The food is always good along with the service and relaxing atmosphere

I had the red special. Very delicious. My son had biscuits and gravy. Looked good and he enjoyed it. Ordered French toast and bacon to go. Looked good in the boxed. Highly recommend everyone to try it. Will return for lunch sometime in the future.

Shannon’s Pit Stop was great! We stayed the weekend in Logan, Ohio and rented a cabin and on our way home Sunday morning we decided it was just easier to stop and get breakfast. The prices were great, definitely the traditional small diner prices and the food was fresh and hot. I’m always a fan of breakfast burritos and they had their version, The Bubba Special. My husband had the steak and eggs. The steak wasn’t 5 star restaurant quality or anything, but it was still great. They were quick to refill our coffees and there wasn’t any waiting to get a seat. They also had a drive thru window and they do call-ins/ take-out orders. Friendly staff. Definitely a great stop to end our weekend getaway and give us enough energy for the drive home.
