We come to the Shanghai Inn at least twice a month. Great tastes, great prices, great service.
Very generous portions, we usually split an appetizer and a main dish.
Service is fast and prices are great. We usually have the egg roles and orange chicken, more than enough for 2.
Very clean and quiet enough for a conversation.

Best Chinese food in Palm Desert, the whole Coachella Valley! Thank you Shanghai Inn for always being such delicious food. I have been eating here since I’ve was a young girl. I NEVER eat out.. I cook all my meals, this is one of the very few places I can’t wait to get takeout at when I cannot cook 🙂 <3 Wonderful staff and atmosphere

Very elegant and welcoming restaurant. Their food is so yummy. My suggestions number one would be a Crispy Duck, fried rice, dumplings, and shrimps. Their service is top-notch. I’m so happy to discover this wonderful Chinese restaurant in the desert which is located on the right side of Albertsons.

The Food was gross, did not taste authentic; the orange chicken didn’t taste like orange chicken and had terrible texture, the egg rolls and crispy noodles were bland, the crispy noodles were to hard and inedible, the utensils that were given to us were dirty even through they were disposable. The service was slow and not very professional, even though the restaurant was not busy; I’ve never seen a restaurant provide such terrible food before, and all for the low price of 80$ for the most minimum portions of food is absolutely a scam.

This isn’t Michelin quality, but this is my favorite Chinese food in Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage. Can’t comment on service or atmosphere, because I always get take out. If you are health conscious you will enjoy this restaurant. For example they do not use MSG, which intensifies flavors, but is bad for you. Those who find the food here bland are likely used to highly processed food and super sized servings. For a tasty healthy meal Shanghai Inn is a good choice.

I dine her occasionally when having a taste for Chinese. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Adequately priced for the desert. As a vegetarian, I found the menu limiting my choices. The Sesame Tofu was nice and flavorful!

These people are extremely stingy with their protein. I would suggest you check your food before you leave, if you’re picking up for takeout. This was certainly not $13 worth of food. I ordered chicken with vegetable and friend rice. To say the least, I got a tablespoon worth of shaved chicken. That’s poor business practice. I got ripped off.

This restaurant is going to eventually fail. It is one of the most Americanized slop I have ever eaten. 5stars on the plain white rice. That’s why I gave them a 2 for food.

The server is unbelievably rude! She’s refusing my credit card just because she can’t add a tip? Seriously? I checked the bill and saw a 20% tip already added. When I pointed this out, she had the audacity to say OK.i will try and swipe my card anyway. What a complete joke! Watch out, people! Double-check your bill, or you might end up giving them a double tip without even realizing it! The food nothing special, atmosphere OK, server has an attitude.

This restaurant is our go-to Chinese cuisine of choice. The pan fried pork dumplings were delicious as usual and the roast duck and shrimp and scallops were amazing! Washed down with Tsing Tao beers completed the evening. The service was excellent and it was nice to help a new server with his English. One negative was the sparse serving of white rice. Otherwise 5 stars!
