I’m sure our dismal experience was not the norm here or else. This place would be closed down. Our onion rings, chicken strips, sweet potato fries were all over cooked possibly in very dirty oil and almost burnt. My shredded pork on a sandwich and my husband’s ribs were great, the coleslaw was terrible. It had the appearance of being already been chewed up. Perhaps they chopped it too small, it was very unappealing. I’m just glad I didn’t have to cook dinner. I’m sure this is not how it normally is here. Maybe they have a new cook or maybe he’s just a terrible cook. It was made worse because one of my friends that ate with us complained a lot about everything. It was a sad dinner. I would love to give this place another chance.

My first mistake was ordering a salad….. I knew I should have ordered some real food. My lettuce was brown and slimy. The grilled chicken was good so I ended up eating that from the salad. The fruit flies helped themselves to my bowl Brunswick Stew. Stew was ok, not stellar, didn’t eat it. For the price I expect to have fresh lettuce on a salad. Well, at a restaurant, at any price, I expect to have fresh lettuce on a salad. Most likely won’t be visiting here again. Didn’t enjoy it a couple of years ago and didn’t care much for it today. That’s ok Barrow County-ites….. many other places I can go and enjoy. I’ll save all the Shane’s for y’all.

High praise for Amy today! Ordered the rib basket and was beginning to eat when Amy walked by and noticed that the ribs were not to standard. I hadn’t recognized they were dry and overcooked. She immediately acknowledged, apologized and within minutes showed up with a new order. Wow, the new ribs were perfect, and a larger piece! Her professional response went above and beyond! Thank you Amy! She’s someone who knows excellent customer service, and maintaining standards and reputation. Shane’s is lucky to have you! We’ll be back!

Three stars because the girl at the front counter was friendly. Mac and cheese was cold and tasted like the Mac and cheese they serve you in a high school cafeteria. Chicken tenders were tough and chewy. Shredded chicken was *okay*. Ribs were good and buffalo chicken fries were decent. Floors and tables are all sticky. Was down to try it once, probably won’t go again.

We use to enjoy this location. They need to change some of their staff. Only 5 of 6 meals were ok during our last visit. 5 meals had to be remade. 4 burgers were badly burned. The buns were soggy and had black grease dripping from them. The appearance and smell was bad. The grilled cheese sandwich looked like it was cooked in same stuff and looked bad. The staff had attitudes. One even wanted to take pictures of the burned burger since the cooks couldn’t understand what they did wrong. Not sure why they couldn’t just take the burgers back to the kitchen. One staff member even wanted to argue about a side claiming she didn’t see it on the ticket. We had to show the receipt. The remakes were almost as bad. Crunchy pieces made into the burger. Child’s burger came out rare which is unacceptable. Everyone felt sick from the food. Will not be returning to this location anytime soon. We were able to speak to a manager a few days later to notify her of our experience.

Giving an extra star because the girl at the front was super friendly, but the quality of food here is now abysmal. Everything tastes like food a school would order for their cafeteria. Bbq is not fresh, you can tell it comes out of a giant bag. Green beans were seasoned well but swimming and I mean swimming in butter. We used to like the food the quality isn’t there anymore. And the one thing they could’ve gotten right was extra crispy fries butnl they were soggy

Tenders are amazing. Seriously, love them dipped in lemon pepper. Brunswick stew was ok, but the fried okra is so freaking delicious. Salt is just right. Peach cobbler was ok, but not my favorite. But seriously, $9.99 for six tenders and a side is way cheaper than you’ll find fresh tenders anywhere else.
Door is so hard to open you might think they’re closed. But they’re not, just hit the gym, do some curls, and one day you’ll be able to open that door yourself.
