We stopped in for lunch unexpectedly. They were having a grand opening. They weren’t that busy, plenty of open tables. It took a little long for my liking for the waitress, Jessie, to finally approach our table and get our drinks. I asked for a straw to go with my sweet tea – never got it. My husband asked for a second beer. Never got it although they did try to charge us for it. Mixed reviews on the food. Hubby had wings, would’ve been good if they’re weren’t cold. I had Irish tacos which were good but could have used more corned beef. I had a side of sauerkraut that would’ve been good but it was ice cold. Like it just came out of the fridge. Jessie was not attentive at all. She was to busy partying at the bar with other patrons. The owner was outside working the door to get people in and hand out raffle tickets. Maybe Jessie should’ve been out there instead.

Great vibe with excellent seating in fresh air when the windows were open on a beautiful day. Nice outdoor seating as well. We just happened to show up during their Grand Opening, and they fed us for free as we each could choose 3 items in a smaller plate! We loved all of the food: Reuben egg roll, corned beef slider, Irish taco, fish and chips, shepherds pie. For me, the real measure of an Irish place is the corned beef, and I’m happy to report it is fantastic. An outstanding addition was the live band Josh and Friends who played and sang the best jazz! Great experience as we passed through Asheville.

I was visiting from Alabama. Out and about trying new things. I wish I’d ordered something more traditional from this restaurant. My coworkers raved about their dishes. I played it safe with chicken wings. Mistake. The wings were SALTY. I’d not enough libations to make it better
The next time I go, I’m trying something different. I’m definitely going back.

We were excited to try an Irish bar, and have some bangers and mash. We read online that the bar opened at 3:00. We arrived at 3:00 and the doors were locked. After going back and forth a little bit the owner saw us peeking in and opened his door at 3:30, his reason for the doors being locked was that the chef had to run home and would be back in half an hour. My opinion on that is he should have invited us in, sat us at the bar offered us a drink instead of leaving us looking in the window checking to see if anyone was in there. We sat at a pub table and as it was earlyish in the day the place was pretty empty. Bartender got us our drinks no problem. I ordered bangers and mash hubby didn’t want anything. Food came out and I personally didn’t like it. The potatoes were cold and I didn’t love the sausages. So I picked at it a little bit and ended up leaving most of the food on my plate. In my opinion, if a chef sees a dish come back almost full to the kitchen, they generally ask what was wrong. How could I improve it? There were no questions asked. As we were sitting down, a sales rep came in talking about selling kegs of beer, the owner conducted business right behind us which I felt was unprofessional, she talked about the difficulties the bar was having blah blah blah and I found that to be rather off-putting, I felt she should have conducted her business in the back in her office. Overall not a great experience. We won’t be back.

My girlfriend and I came in to grab some dinner (since our intended destination was closed) but quickly found every obstacle to even an acceptable experience.
The food: Our appetizer of onion rings was gross with too much frying oil left after draining. My girlfriend left basically her whole entree (a smashburger) since it was somehow under done. Also uneaten was a sad side of mash potatoes (we thought it would be easy to do that, proved us wrong.) When one of the servers got our check, she said that “it had been a while since anyone got them” and “they are not good.” My steak and cheese was… acceptable… but it’s hard to cook pre-cooked food incorrectly.
The service: With a pub, there’s a natural split between eaters, drinkers, and all of the above. When we arrived, there was a loose dozen of other patrons. After our initial visit, it took almost 20 minutes to get our appetizer order in. It felt like we were lost with the expected crowd and customers from the street.
Overall: Disappointing food with a lackluster venue. I spoke too soon about my dinner as I am writing this review while fighting an odd pattern of hot/cold that feels too close to food poisoning. And to sum it up, two people can’t be more than $60 at a pub. I almost spent $75…
The proverb goes “Any port in the storm” but unfortunately this pub has proven otherwise.
Avoid at all cost.

This place has revamped. It’s no longer Claddagh. It’s much better. Friendlier vibe and ambiance. More pub like. Seems like a good S.I., late night or casual pint bar. Timmy was a great bartender. We’ll come back just to hang with him

Great pub in downtown Asheville!
Perfect place to drink, grab a bite, and listen to music. They have tons of Irish whiskey and Guinness on tap—plus lots of local beers too!
The staff are awesome and the big windows and patio are great for people watching. It’s one of my favorite places to hangout.

Shamrock Irons Irish Pub was such a fun stop in Asheville. Great vibes, friendly crowd, and that classic Irish pub feel you want when you walk in. The drinks were solid, the music added to the atmosphere, and it felt like a place locals actually hang out. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the night — would definitely come back.
