This is the first time I’ve eaten here and I loved it. I haven’t had biscuits and gravy in 3 years since I found out I had Celiac’s; it was so delicious. And the French toast was yummy with the berry compote. Thank you for making such great gluten free food!!

I have Celiac disease, and it was so nice to go to a restaurant and not worry about cross contamination. The biscuit breakfast sandwich was amazing! I haven’t had a gluten free biscuit that good in my life. We also got some bread and baked goods to go, all of which have been delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could go regularly.

—Awesome to find a fantastic menu with excellent numerous vegan options in Mount Vernon. What a surprise. The number of menu items was the perfect amount for lots of choices but not too big to confuse. The only issue…standing in line waiting to order 17 minutes listening to a rambling person figure out the menu instead of knowing what she and her dining partner wanted to order ahead of time—like we did. It helped the wait when the order taker rolled her eyes at me because she was going through the painful order process too—LOL. Then the food arrived 32 minutes later. Well plated, flavorful, and enough food for a quality lunch. The decor is unique with local art for sale. Definitely coming back.

Yum! I don’t need to care about whether their menu is gluten-free, I DO care whether their food tastes good – and it does!! We ordered the french toast and the (vegetarian) biscuits and gravy. The french toast was superb, with a light crust of visible egg on the bread, and a perfectly sweet (but not overly sweet) topping of blackberry sauce and honey. As for the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits weren’t as fluffy as I would ideally prefer but I’ll give them a pass since they tasted fine *and* because the gravy was vegetarian and very flavorful. We also bought two cookies to-go that are quite good – I really like their thin cookies. We live half an hour away but the eye surgery center I occasionally visit is in Mt Vernon so I plan to be a regular on the days when I’m in town.

Great, lowkey vibes. We got the pineapple caeser salad with bread (which was so good and flavorful!). The french toast had banana batter which was so good!! French toast that we like has been impossible until now, and the potato fingerlings were so good without any sauce at all. Definitely a new favorite, wish it was closer <3

We had the shitake teriyaki sandwich, side salad, and the pesto cheesy bread and they were all SO delicious!! Beautiful, cozy location too.

I adore this bakery and restaurant. We’ve been here a couple of times now and every time we drive through town I want to go back. As someone with Celiac there is something so special about a restaurant like this and, truly, Shambala is a treasure like none other. I recommend anyone eating gluten free in the Puget Sound area to make a pilgrimage to try out their food at least once. You will have no regrets!

Shambala catered my daughters wedding and the food was truly amazing, delicious and beautifully presented. There was truly something for everyone, all gluten free….and this was a tough crowd with celiac, vegan, various allergies as well as comfort food meat eaters. From grilled salmon and corn on the cob, to GF pasta and beef dishes, salads, and wedding cake… and much, much more. Nancy Chase, her chef and staff are truly hard working, creative magicians.

Outstanding! We live in Olympia but had to go to Mt. Vernon on Sunday. It was about 3pm and my husband suggested I Google for a vegan restaurant. I didn’t think we would find anything in Mt. Vernon, so what a surprise to find this gem! Their menu is full of amazing vegan options and the quality of the food couldn’t be better. The service was great, the atmosphere is fun, and we just couldn’t find anything we didn’t like! We both had their house made garden burger which was top quality, the bun SO good!
