We ordered Shaks Grill Platter, Smashburger and Chicken Gyro Sandwich and liked them all! It’s not too salty, nor spicy, nor overpowering with flavor. Each dish strikes the food fundamentals to a good balance, they should be fine to eat on their own plus with lots of sauce too (looking out for you sauce bottle maniacs). One small caveat is the presence of chickpeas and corn in the salad. I’m fine with it being in certain vegetarian dishes but not in my meat platter or gyro sandwich; I’m being very subjective here.
It is a takeout restaurant and not suitable for dine in. There is a small window bar to sit to eat but it’s mostly used by folks waiting to pick up their food. But the food is delicious. And all the meats served are halal which is perfect for the multicultural Muslim population living in nearby towns.
I’ll avoid elaborating on the following since the establishment has just started and these can be subjected to change in the future, but you as a customer:
– please make sure you are carrying cash and physical card to pass the transaction. Phone NFC isn’t fully operational yet. Your card might have an issue with being read on the POS.
– business number isn’t currently active, you will need to go in store to order in line or kiosk machine.
– ask for utensils after the food is picked up.
– the workers there are good people, but the service is slow so expect wait time 10-15 mins.

I ordered from Shak’s through DoorDash. I had to share my review here as well. The food was amazing – very flavorful, filling. I had a rice platter, my husband had a gyro, and we also tried their chicken tenders. The portions were large enough to be two meals and were also decently priced. Definitely going to be my new go-to spot.

Great new spot in Burlington Twp; Chicken platter was delicious. Good amount of food for the price. It did taste over salted but i’m cutting some slack for them being open 2 days now. Im sure they will level out and perfect it. Since everything is salted; sauce, red sauce, rice, chicken; once layered it can seem over salted.
Overall; no competition around. Definitely will be the best go to spot for platters near home.

Gave this place a second chance after a terrible experience on the grand opening (waited an hour for my food with no orders left to fullfill ahead of mine kept asking for an update they said “we think they’re making it??) just left with a $60 order-my burger is a single patty no bacon when I paid for a double with bacon and no onion, but the onions there. I asked for one chicken platter and one lamb platter, luckily I caught them making a second chicken platter and didn’t leave with it. You hire cheap labor and expect ppl to have a quality experience but yall missed twice now really bad. Hire competent workers and not just anyone u can find. Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend. Please contact me back as I would most definitely like a refund.

Food preparation was quick. Shak and Zu were friendly. I had the lamb and chicken platter with a pita. LARGE portion, get the WHITE sauce. The green and red hot sauce were also tasty. If you like hot the red sauce is fiery. They have desserts too! The pumpkin pie was incredible, and this is the first time I have ever enjoyed rice pudding, thank you, I’ll be back!

with the entire staff, food, atmosphere. I ordered the falafal salad and the fish platter. Both were outstanding, nothing over powering but the sauce. The white sauce is calm as it is yogurt
based but the red sauces had a bit of heat to them. Delicious tho.
I am so happy they are here now as their food is healthy and lite.
So accomodating to your needs and very friendly.

Wow blew me away. Never in my life had gyro with corn and chick peas all in it. They loaded my gyro with lamb and chicken. Had to eat the rest up with a fork. It was amazing to say the least. First time my wife ever tried a gyro and I’m glad it was here. It was my first time and won’t be my last here. Also whoever the guy was who was working the front is awesome. After my two little ones were finished eating he gave them ice cream and all at no cost. Really nice place was fresh and tasteful and def made an impact.
