This is the cutest and most nostalgic Restaurant in the area! Totally worth a short drive from the interstate! Offering delicious burgers and hot dogs! Many ice cream flavors to choose from! The kids will love it! Great staff and very clean! Indoor and outdoor dining. Well lit and safe. Near gasoline and some other boutiques. Cute Gallipolis area! Rich historical story’s all over town.

We were on vacation and stopped in here for a milkshake. We were not disappointed. Apparently the candy cane/peppermint shake here is NOT seasonal and it was delicious. One of the kids got a banana split milkshake and it had real fruit in it. It really was a banana split in a cup! Oh, and these shakes are bigger and cheaper than a competitor’s prices. All around better.

Monday 13th
Went in for ice cream with my gf.
We watched an employee with open sores on forearm handling food and ice cream, no gloves or covering
The same employee, which later the manager confirmed, used dirty and soapy bleach water to clean off the cup and lid area.
This employee is using the bucket of dirty bleach to wipe the top of the paper cup while the other employee, for the past 5 minutes prior to the cup incident is using this same bucket and rag to clean everything else. Counters, machines and etc
We asked if that cup was for us because we are watching the same dirty, soapy and bleach covered rag being used to cleaned the inside rim area of the paper cup.
The manager, insisted this the practice they use and are aloud to use daily. The manager had an attitude.
The employee said they can make a new one.
As the employee is throwing the ice cream out, the manager becomes rough with the employee, saying you didnt need to do that.
After this, it progressively got worse. The manager made comments about how at this point, it was 30 minutes before close. That all we are doing is complaining. That he is going to call the police on us. Then proceeded to call the police, lies on the phone with the police.
1 employee says sorry then when the manager says something to her, she backs down.
The manager claimed we were yelling, pouring ice cream on the floor (cameras in the store will prove otherwise), made a comment about other employees being uncomfortable. They definitely were visibly uncomfortable around him.
No one was yelling from any side. Just really sad “customer service” from a “manager” because we didnt want to drink a milkshake with bleach. Trespass customers for wanting clean and safe ice cream.
Even the police said they wouldn’t have taken that milkshake that was made by them.
Hopefully the owner sees this.

Good food, almost “fair food” style. This was my first time going there, my boyfriend grew up going here so I have been hearing about it for years. The fish tail sandwich was huge and good, both my boyfriend and son tried it. I had chicken tenders, they were good, average tasting to be honest. My other son had the chicken sandwich and mozzarella sticks, we also tried the fries, chocolate malt shake and slushies…all were good with decent prices, I think we paid about $40…for 4 adults to eat. I would definitely try it again.

After running around greenhouses on a hot, sunny day we wanted ice cream.. Shake Shoppe sounded perfect. The ice cream part was but the hot dog and hamburger not so much. Neither of them hot..they were barely warm. The French fries were steaming hot and tasted great! The cashier was just a warm body she didn’t crack a smile or offer pleasantries..not even “thank you and have a nice day”. The building is old, dated and in need of a few repairs but seemed clean. The music was great and not blasting so loud you couldn’t carry on a conversation.

A must place to stop for lunch or dinner. We travel to Gallipolis every Christmas, and the shake shoppe has become part of the tradition. The food is good, as well as the prices. A throwback to years gone by.

This place was very cool. I dont know if they have daily specials or if I was just lucky but a great 1/4 lb. burger, The Stuftshirt, for around $1.50!! After discovering this gem I dont know why anyone in this town would ever eat at one of the chain fast food restaurants here! Shake Shoppe is the best food and the best prices. I’m sure many great memories are made by families here!

This place was so good! We went here on a while while visiting. The size of the shakes here are to DIE FOR. There’s literally nothing better than a huge vanilla shake, like I’m literally so down for that. The burgers and fries here we’re great, and the fried mushrooms were a great treat too.
