Aside from the food, the customer service was great. When our food was ready, another customer thought it was theirs and had placed their hands in the bag and on the food. The employees were incredibly understanding and offered to remake our order. They redid the order super quickly and even gave us a coupon for next time.
i love in n out but prefer shake shack. either one is great as they nail the concept of “do something limited but execute it amazingly.”
service is always great here and the workers are friendly. the orders are always correct and on time (i order on the app).
can’t find anything bad to say.
I first tried to place my order through the mobile app so I could save time. The app was advertising a special that I wanted to use, but every time I placed the order I received an error message. I force closed the app, tried again several times, but it never worked.
I ended up going in person. When I got to the counter, I noticed the prices were different from the mobile special. I asked if they could honor the price since the app was not functioning. The cashier said they could not, even though the only reason I was ordering in person was because their app failed. That was disappointing, but I still ordered.
For a burger, fries, and a drink, my total was about $21 after tax, which is already on the high side. I waited. And waited. And waited. After about 45 minutes with still no food, I went back to the counter to ask for a refund since I had to head to a meeting. I did not get a receipt when I originally ordered, so I gave the employee my order number and explained the situation.
Instead of helping right away, he continued doing other tasks. When he finally helped me, he wrote down my first name, last name, phone number, and email and told me someone would process the refund. I left after roughly forty five minutes of waiting with no food ever being prepared.
Weeks went by with no refund.
In mid November, I was nearby and walked back in to speak with a manager. I showed him the charge in my bank account from October. He said he would look into it, took my information again, and told me the refund would be issued in the next couple of days.
Today is Nov 26, and I still do not have the refund.
At this point, I paid $21 for a burger, fries, and a drink that I never received, plus wasted time of follow up that led nowhere. Between the app issues, the long wait, the lack of a receipt, the confusion at the counter, and the fact that a simple refund has taken almost a month, this has been extremely frustrating. I could have gone to any nearby spot and had a better experience in a fraction of the time.
I do not plan on returning based on this experience. This was easily the most disappointing interaction I have ever had at a fast food or fast casual restaurant.
