We got to eating so quickly the only shot I got of one of the chicken sandwiches was a small piece of fallen lettuce. LOL!
When Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park, our mission was simple: raise funds for a public art project.
As we grew into a global business, our mission to Stand For Something Good expanded to include taking care of our team, sourcing premium ingredients from partners with the same dedication to quality, designing our Shacks responsibly, supporting our communities through donations, events, and volunteering—and much more.
Doing good is in our roots, a part of our DNA since day one. 20 years later, we’re still continuing to expand and evolve our mission to Stand For Something Good in everything we do.
I got food poisoning though at this location this past Tuesday, 12/2. I was the last order here, left around 8:50-9pm. I ordered a big shack, fries and a mango drink. Seemed like the workers wanted to leave asap since I would too if I were them. The burger was not hot when I received it and after I ate the big shack, I got food poisoning. Had to call off work for two days and today I have enough energy to actually write a review. Legit thought I was gonna die and wouldn’t want anyone to experience what I went through.
Maybe I had a bad batch of food or something but I mean, either way, managements gotta step it up, actually cook the food and not serve sitting out patties and putting it on a bun. Only reason why I could think I got food poisoning. Anything I ate that day before was kind bars and a fruit so…. It had to be shake shack.
I’m not writing this to ruin any businesses, and obviously I don’t have any proof besides a receipt but it would be nice if management can respond back to this review and reassure me that changes will be made and I can get some form of reimbursement. If you actually care, please leave a number for me to call you guys. Thanks
The location is right by the Towson Circle, where you have to wrave in a circle of traffic and choose between Joppa Rd, York Rd and Dulaney Valley. The only parking situation you have, includes having to walk a block or 2 and maybe crossing a busy street.
Shake Shack has no meals or combos. So, you have to order every item. They only cook the burgers medium well, so, no point in asking for it to be cooked well done. The foo, itself, is pretty good. The pricing is more than your regular fast food chains, but, lower than 5 Guys.
The service at this particular location leaves much to be desired. The cashier did not tell me there were no combo meals at Shake Shack, the active manager did. And, when I got my order and it wad only a burger and milkshake, no fries, and I said something, they got smart with me. Even tild me “bye, bye” like that was gonna make me not want fries still. The issue got resolved, but, that still left a nasty impression on me, as far as service goes.
I can’t recommend this location for that reason. You may be better off utilizing a delivery app to order food from here.
The chicken:
– Flavourless, mostly tasting like chicken base + oil
– Sauce was nothing special
– Chicken was dry as a bone
– Bun was like a smashed cheap potato roll from a grocery store
– Bunch of wilty shredded lettuce
The Burger:
– Also extremely dry
– Basic mayo sauce was ok
– Same lettuce and bun as the chicken
– Basically unseasoned beef as the patty.
TL:DR; Very bland. You’re probably better off at McDonalds, and I really don’t like McDonalds..
Service is good but could be better compared to other restaurants in the area.
I went there once and I’ll probably visit again. The Dubai chocolate milkshake was overrated in my opinion. It was too sweet and not worth the price. Also it didn’t really look like the advertised version.
Bathrooms could have been cleaner though.
Edit: I gave Shake Shack another chance and they really nailed my Christmas cookie shake. They were also running an incredible promotion which netted me a free big shack with my $10+ purchase. Consequently, I have updated my review to reflect the much more positive experience I had the second time.
