Pretty good SS location. But the cashier messed up my order. I asked for a chicken sandwich plain. They gave me a sandwich with mayo, lettuce and everything on it. Also, the wait time for the initial mess up took 45 minutes. This is with 12 people working in the kitchen and 4 customers. Strange how chick fil a can push 50+ customers every 20 mins but shake shake cant handle 4 people in 45 mins.
Burger was dry and burned meat with an odd tasting spice that leaves a bad aftertaste. I think this is how shake shack makes burgers in NJ too. If management is reading this, Red Robin has the gold standard for absolute best burgers ever made. Juicy and flavorful with a delicious bun. Match RRs burgers and you will have a 5 star rating from me.
Fries were good.
Chicken sandwich was good, but not as good as cfa, popeyes or wendys. About equal with mcd’s.
Iced tea was good. Better than mcd’s, but not as good as Red Robins raspberry tea.
Prices are way too high especially for burned dry burgers. For less than this price i can get a much tastier meal at Red Robin, Burger King, or Boston Market. Our meal today came to more than $60 for 4 meals with 3 drinks.
Restroom was nasty with wet pee on floor, used surgical gloves on floor, dried pee on toilet seat, dirty toilet paper on floor, dirty diaper paper left on changing table. But it was a lot cleaner than a public port-q-potty.
Caution! If you eat in the outside dinning area using the back exit, the door will lock on you and trap you outside with the only way back inside will be through the front door. Also, if u eat in the outside dinning area, random pedestrians will walk through the seating area as a shortcut to walk around the block. This is dangerous since i saw 4 homeless panhandlers/drug addicts loitering in this area asking for money while people are sitting and eating. Not sure if there are theft crimes here, but probably safer to eat inside.

Absolutely no free parking and good luck finding any parking available nearby

Hey, at least I got a free chicken sandwich.
After an exhausting tour of the mall I found myself back at my hotel room, in no mood to go anywhere but somewhat hungry. So I searched nearby and found a Shake Shack, a restaurant I have heard of but never been to.
Ordered delivery to my room going with a grilled cheese, a chicken sandwich which was buy one get one, a peach shake and a vanilla custard. Coming to a bit over $31.
Delivery guy had a little trouble finding my correct hotel, but eventually they got sent to the right building and I had my meal back in my room. Hungry that I was I dug into the grilled cheese, but was a bit let down as it was so floppy. I much prefer my grilled cheese solid, but this bread was moist. Moving on to the chicken sandwich, I wasn’t that more impressed. It was thick and had plenty of fillings, but it too was just so wet. It was like my sandwiches took a shower before coming to me. Finally the shake and the custard, and they were acceptable. The peach chunks did not make it through the straw so I had to pop the top and drink it that way, and the custard was just a rich vanilla ice cream.
Overall I’d say my first experience with a Shake Shack was mediocre, could easily have been better but for a quick and dirty (or wet in my case) meal when you’re tired and hungry, it does the trick.

Located on a corner of 14th Street, right across from a bus stop, easy to get to either on foot or public transportation.
Self ordering kiosks are easiest to use. There are at least three of them and you can order at the counter, as well. There’s a large dining area, but the food is cooked to order so it’s still hot if you take it back to the hotel if you’re near by.
It’s a chain, it wasn’t the best I’ve had of shake shack, but it was hot and fast.

UPDATE: After emailing the Shake Shack team, they were able to offer support on July 12 and are looking into this! Their timely response is appreciated.
ORIGINAL POST: Came in on the evening of Fourth of July around 10:45 pm and was very appreciative that Shake Shack was still open for service on a holiday but we did not leave until 1:20am with food that was not remotely close to what we ordered. All of the burgers came back without lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce. The staff was understandably exhausted because there were too many people and orders, but we couldn’t even get a proper refund. We also thought about just abandoning the order but after waiting 3 hours it felt weird to leave without anything in hand. We were offered two comp lemonades at the end of the night but it doesn’t make up for the fact of having waited there for 3 hours when it should have been a quick stop. It would be great to understand what went wrong as we should have been notified that we were going to have to wait 3 hours in person.

Shake shack is officially my favorite fast food place I have been to in Washington DC, the burgers taste so good and the milkshake was just on point, fries are good too! I liked the device they give you and it vibrates when your order is ready, the price is a bit higher than your standard fast food burger place but it is 100% worth every penny!

Rico is an absolute beast. Been in this shake shack for about 30 minutes and the whole time he’s been extremely productive. Taking out trash, running food orders, and asking us if we’re doing good multiple times, and has a great personality too.

Went here this past Sunday and got a Swiss Mushroom Burger with a side of onion rings and a small drink for dinner. It was a mistake.
I have no idea how this place charges $30 for Sysco Food’s level of bland & under seasoned foodstuff became acceptable here, but it sure as hell did. Especially when that food is a small, sad, and somehow under-salted burger, with onion rings that were indiscernible from said Sysco Food’s products (that is to say “exceedingly cheap,”) and a sub 12 oz drink that cost $4.
I know it’s not the staff’s fault here, all the stuff is pre-packaged & shipped to the location but good god was it not good. I’d honestly recommend stuff out of a 7-11 heat-lamp box over going here again.
I could have had a fantastic meal at any of the near-by actual sit-down & wait restaurants and spent significantly less. Or hell, even the mcdonalds down the road.

The people were so nice and friendly, they took the time to describe the shake I was ordering, and they brought me the food very quickly. It was a fun atmosphere. Definitely recommend this one.
