Hip, counter-serve chain for gourmet takes on fast-food classics like burgers & frozen custard.

Awful. Pathetic quality and food presentation. Absolute mess. Terribly rude service. Dined at locations in NYC that were pretty good fast food, if not pricy. This was a mistake. Felt totally ripped off. Don’t fall for their trap if you have to pull off here. And don’t even try to get any catsup from the evil condiment troll if you don’t present multipe pieces of evidence to prove purchase received two minutes prior.

Food was tasty. Served fast, even though it was dinner time at a highway rest stop. Workers looked tired, but were still friendly. There really weren’t many places to sit (it shares space with a Starbucks). There are some seats outside, but it was hot and humid, so outside wasn’t an option. Regardless, it’s fast food, right off the Thruway, and it was just as delicious as any stand alone Shake Shack.

Ordered a shake and a burger. They were reasonably busy, but I still had my meal in like, 30 seconds or less. I was thoroughly impressed and they didnt sacrifice quality either. Outstanding for a rest stop-based franchise

Very busy fast food restaurant. Their burgers are more on the greasy side than other fast food places. Fries are so-so. Got the cheese sauce for the fries, and it tasted like a warmed up cheese whiz. Would I get their burgers and fries again…..I don’t know….probably not. Presentation of the burgers looked good. The shakes are nice.

Visited on busy busy Labor Day. Tons of people coming home from the holiday weekend. Staff was friendly and food came out quick despite the crowds. The burgers were out of this world good and the shakes were great too. Appreciated a limited menu; easier to make a decision! Food is pricey but fast food is not really affordable anymore.

The new Shake Shack at the Junius Ponds rest stop on the New York State Thruway is a welcome addition to the area. Although the space is a bit narrow, the food more than makes up for it. The Shake Shack burger, crinkle-cut fries, and shakes are all delicious and definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through. There’s also a Starbucks on-site for those looking for a quick coffee fix. Overall, a great option for a tasty and convenient meal while traveling on the Thruway.

Very overpriced for what little you get. We visited at 11am. There is no breakfast menu. We spent $40 for two burgers, fries, a shake and a water. The meat patties were small, the bun did not cover the meat and the lettuce was a single thin partial leaf. I had the shack stack burger. The fried portabella mushroom was greasy and spit hot cheese at me. The “new” NYS Thruway rest stop is a fraction of the old footprint. We had trouble finding a table. You will get a better, cheaper meal if you exit the thruway and give your business to NYS local restaurant.

Friendly, polite employees. The area was clean, the tables were clean. No waiting line. The food was hot and served quickly. I ordered the bacon cheese fries. They were hot and delicious! I love the bright, open look of the rest area.

This shake shack is inside a Service Area along the highway. It does not have all of the menu offers found at a regular location. Employees are usually overwhelmed and the food is just okay. They’ve renovated the Ramapo service area, so it’s nicer inside. If you want a full selection of food and shakes, this is not the place to go. If you’re hungry and you want something decent, and you’re not a shake shack regular, then this will be fine.

This is honestly the best burger I’ve had in a very long time, very authentic and natural taste. It’s true the food is a bit pricey but definitely worth every bite thanks
