Shah’s Halal was established in 2005 with one food cart in Richmond Hill Queens on 121st and Liberty Avenue, and we’ve been tantalizing taste buds ever since. In 2016, we developed our first Long Island branch with the goal in mind of becoming, “the best Halal Food Restaurant in Long Island NY” and we’ve definitely grown a lot since then! Food and atmosphere was exceptional. This is my first time and looking for a recommendation. The workers didn’t really care and was impatiently waiting for me to order just expecting me to pay. No smile, no greeting, I didn’t feel welcomed. The guy at the register was really using his phone while I was waiting over 10 min just for fries. But service could be worse. The food was exceptional though but service could better.

Amazing food with healthy proteins options. I had chicken wings and chicken platter with white and green sauce. Extremely delicious and juicy chicken. Portion size was very good for an adult and hot chicken wings (crispy and tender) are best option for kids.

The food overall was decent. I enjoyed it. I just only wished they gave me a little bit more protein. Also for the portions for 12 bucks I’d say portions need to be bigger. Overall good food just needs more portions. I still think Yassa Grill is better imo.

I’ve ordered food three times from this location, they do a fantastic job! Portions are excellent, flavors are great, I really like the sauces! We’ve ordered lamb and chicken gyros and lamb and chicken dinner plates. Some of the best takeout I’ve had this year!

Chicken is flavorful. Need labels or names for sauces. Don’t know what the green sauce is. Entire restaurant is extremely hot. Couldn’t even sit down and eat inside. Not sure how the food stays up to temperature code for board of health but this place needs to fix their AC ASAP before someone gets food poisoning

I ordered the Chicken Halal Bowl, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The chicken itself lacked flavor—it seemed like it hadn’t been seasoned well, and the overall dish relied heavily on the sauces for taste. Even then, the sauces didn’t really bring it together as a cohesive, flavorful meal. Also, the food wasn’t served hot enough, which took away from the freshness and overall experience.
I was hoping for a more balanced, well-seasoned bowl with distinct flavors. I appreciate your willingness to improve and hope this helps!

We came with a large group, and the staff couldn’t have been more kind and accommodating. My usually picky toddlers devoured the chicken cheesesteak and fries. The rest of us tried a variety of menu items; everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It’s such a treat to have high-quality halal food in the community. We’ll definitely be coming back! 🙂

I have eaten there almost 10 times since they opened, ordered probably 3 times before the grand opening. Today I ordered online and I got a Standard chicken plate, my girlfriend got the same thing, but added hot onions and peppers with extra white sauce, I picked it up. I got home. I opened my plate. There is no white sauce and the chicken is mixed with onions on my plate, which I absolutely hate onions. Her plate has the peppers and onions and the extra white sauce, so no problem there. My problem is I ordered a standard plate which is rice, chicken, cucumber, tomato, and lettuce with white sauce so I went back and told them they messed up the order The small girl behind the counter argued with me that that was the standard plate . I told her I have eaten here almost 10 times now, when I order a standard plate there is no onions and it comes with a standard amount of white sauce. She opened the container behind the counter of the chicken and it was a mixture of chicken and onion. I have never seen this before I feel as though she is doing whatever she wants when the managers are not there and I am extremely extremely disappointed with the Customer Service tonight. I personally hate onions cooked, raw, or any other way and I’ve ordered from there so many times and have grown to absolutely love the food. There is no way that I am mistaken that there has always been onions in the chicken!
