Social Profile:

Shah’s Halal was established in 2005 with one food cart in Richmond Hill Queens on 121st and Liberty Avenue, and we’ve been tantalizing taste buds ever since. In 2016, we developed our first Long Island branch with the goal in mind of becoming, “the best Halal Food Restaurant in Long Island NY” and we’ve definitely grown a lot since then! We know our customers are just as passionate about great food as we are.

I recently visited Shah Halal Restaurant to get a taste of their offerings, and here’s my honest review:

What I Ordered:
Beef & Chicken Combo Over Rice
Beef Chapli & Chips
The Food:
Beef & Chicken Combo Over Rice: This was the highlight of my meal. The beef and chicken were seasoned beautifully, with just the right balance of spices. Paired with the rice, it made for a hearty and flavorful dish. Definitely worth trying!
Beef Chapli & Chips: I started with the chapli, and sadly, it didn’t impress me. The beef patty was overcooked, making it dry and lacking the juiciness you’d typically expect from a good chapli kebab. The chips were decent, but nothing extraordinary.
The Ambiance:
The interior was clean and inviting, with a simple yet pleasant setup. It’s clear they take pride in maintaining a neat environment.

Service:
The staff was friendly and attentive, making the overall experience feel welcoming.

Final Thoughts:
If you’re visiting Shah Halal, I’d recommend sticking to the rice combos—they seem to be the stars of the menu. However, the chapli could use some improvement. With a clean space and great service, it’s still a place worth visiting for a quick, satisfying meal.

I came here today on lunch from work and had a great experience! I ordered the chicken over rice with lettuce, tomatoes, and white onions, topped with extra white and green sauce. That combo is a major key. The food was incredibly flavorful—each bite of rice, chicken, and sauce was a flavor explosion. I also ordered fries, which were preseasoned and delicious. Everything came to $14, which is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The fries and the plate were equal to two meals worth of food. I would highly recommend coming here.

Some notable mentions: it was clean inside, the staff was friendly, it’s pretty roomy, prices are reasonable for what you get, they stay open late, there’s a bathroom for customer use, and there is seating in the back with tables and chairs. This spot is definitely worth a visit!

Sammy, Lander, Shahid, Nani, and Chinna are always friendly and courteous!!! I go here at least twice a week the food is amazing but it’s the people working there and the relationships I’ve built with them personally, that keep me going back so often. If anyone deserves a raise it’s these guys!!!!

We go to Shah’s often! It’s one of my husbands favorite Halal place. Yesterday we got our usual mixed over rice. But we also got the spicy wings and a Philly cheesesteak and we loved both of them! The service was great!

Shah’s Halal Food in Downtown Stamford is a must-visit for anyone craving bold, authentic flavors at a great value. The menu features perfectly seasoned and grilled meats, with standouts like the chicken over rice, lamb, and gyro platters that never disappoint. Portions are generous, ensuring you leave fully satisfied, and the variety of options — including gyros, sandwiches, vegetarian choices, and a range of sauces — means there’s something for everyone. The restaurant is clean and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to help with recommendations or customizations. While peak hours can bring slightly longer wait times and occasional inconsistency, the overall experience remains excellent. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, Shah’s delivers a satisfying and flavorful halal meal every time.

The food here is fresh and it’s clean but that being said it isn’t like that greasy halal platter you get in NYC which is what I’m lookin for I don’t want a clean healthy halal platter I want a greasy heart attack in a tray ( it’s a personal preference )but this is still a decent place and the people were nice

Food is no doubts great but the atmosphere inside is not comfortable to eat in. Multiple visits during summer and it’s always really hot inside, the thermostat is always showing 80-81 degrees.
Spoke to the person behind the register today about it and his response was”we have setup the thermostat to 70, what else can we do? “ really? Well, you have to get it fixed so people feel comfortable sitting and eating inside or else remove the chairs/tables and make it a take out only place.
Unless they fix the inside temperature issues , won’t recommend eating in to anyone at this location.
