We love The Shack. We come here often but I’ve never done a food review so it’s about time. Their adult beverages are really good, I particularly love the spicy bloody Mary. Every item on the menu has a funny name. My favorite is the Smokin em if you got’em breakfast skillet. And you can get breakfast at lunch time also.
The John Denver omelet is also a favorite, so is the chicken and waffle and the loaded hash..but really, you can’t go wrong with anything you order on the menu.

Great find! We were there around 8:30 on a Sunday morning. Several customers there, but no waiting for a table. Honey, our sever was fantastic (I requested a side that is not a normal breakfast side and she made it happen)! The food arrived quickly, hot and was really good – and the serving sizes were generous.

Really neat place.. the food is good. So many choices. Menu is pretty overwhelming for me. BUT that is ok because the staff always tells me what I want …and they are right everytime. Natasha, great server. I had 4 children with me and she handled this gracefully. Rob at the bar also must be mentioned, genuine and kind smiles. I left my debit card of course .. got it back no problem. My kids picked this place, they did a good job. Definitely a new gobto for us. Thank you

Food was not hot at all. Hash browns were crumbly and room temperature at best. Flavor was nothing to write home about either. Very disappointed I spent $45 for breakfast for two people only to have the experience we did. Could have made a much better breakfast at home and saved a bunch of money. Used to love this place.

Today I delivered a dish that comes with gravy all over it. When I received it, there was no gravy. This is typically a key part of the dish that they seem to have forgotten. I ended up driving to the restaurant and they were friendly and remade it. This was a bit unfortunate because I paid for delivery and tipped the delivery driver, but I understand things can happen. I drove home with my new order, and this time my chicken was very odd texture. I am not sure what was different, but it was not good. The chicken was very chewy, and the texture was not that great. I ended up tossing it. I gave two stars because the hosts up front were very sweet and gave great service, but it was not the best food experience.

Did go to shack for breakfast with family over the weekend. Food was great…tried various stuff …. Nashville chicken and veggie omelette was good one.
Had ordered one gluten free item and stickley asked no meat, no chicken but the item served was with chicken, they served another one but found a piece. Was little disappointed.

Loved the menu – made me laugh out loud! The food was amazing – HUGE pancake, cooked to perfection! And I have never seen such a big croissant! Service was great – friendly and low key. We will be back!

Love the food at ANY shack breakfast and lunch location that you choose to go to throughout St. Louis. They have a waitlist online, but for some reason the website said there was no wait and when we got there around 8:50am on Sunday, we had to wait approximately 15 minutes for a table for 2. This was a little disappointing knowing that they should have an updated web for those who don’t want to wait at the restaurant.
The young gentleman they had hosting was very nice. It took a little while, maybe 6 minutes for our server to get to our table, but he was very attentive so no complaints other than the initial wait. We did have to ask for water. We also got juice, which surprisingly came in glassware larger than the water glasses. That was a pleasant surprise. I got the cranberry juice with a chocolate chip pancake, and side of biscuits and gravy. I could barely finish the pancake so beware if you think it’s not enough for a meal, because it definitely is. My husband got the loaded greens skillet with chili and sour cream on top, a side of hash browns, and orange juice. His skillet was more than enough, so he brought home the hash browns to go. This location has a very relaxed atmosphere, and felt a little darker than other locations because of the lack of windows where we were sitting. For nice weather, they have outdoor seating.

Very bad experience. I had been to other Shack locations before. This one is worst. We mentioned them when joined wait list that we need a high chair as we have a 15 months old. After 30 mins they gave us a table which can not have high chair. Then just to accommodate told us to wait, while other people who came after us got table instantly. We had to leave as the wait to be seated seemed forever. Poor

Love this place for breakfast&lunch! Awesome friendly service. Casual comfortable restaurant. Great food!! Menu is creative with lots of build your own options and fun combinations you wouldn’t usually create but taste awesome. Pancakes are huge saucers. Great kids choices! Be ready for a wait.. usually an hour on weekends but well worth it. Just grab a drink from their full bar – iced coffee, mimosas, spicy Bloody Mary’s … signature morning drinks too. Prices are very reasonable especially given the portion sizes. They accommodate large groups easily. Can’t wait to go back.
