Incredibly disappointed. We just had lunch here and everything was going well, until I bit into a hard piece of PLASTIC in my food. I should’ve taken a picture of it. It was at least an inch long, looks like it had broken off of something.

I called staff over to notify them and staff quickly took it away to let the manager know. We waited to hear back from them, but instead, they sent another staff who meagerly handed us this pathetic bonus card for the next visit, without even saying anything. NO apologies or anything.

We will NOT be back. I’m upset because I actually really liked this place and had been here a few times, but this lack of customer service left such a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended. They don’t care about their guests.

Took my daughter here for a late birthday dinner and was absolutely blown away! The staff was very friendly and explained how to enjoy the experience more. We had the meat trio with a teriyaki broth and a ponzu sauce that was citrus flavored but not overpowering. The sushi selection was perfect and wonderfully prepared! The buffet was fully stocked with TONS of options for veggies to cook with your meal and was kept stocked and clean all the time! The robot server was a fun little twist! Cannot wait to go back!

The experience was only okay. The Wagyu beef, which was served shabu-shabu style, surprised me because the slices were very tiny. I understand this may be standard for shabu-shabu, but it didn’t meet my expectations for value or satisfaction. Given my experience, my answer to whether I should come back is no. Service was great, no doubt.

Shabu-You in Schaumburg is a solid hot pot option in the suburbs with good food and a nice ambience. The restaurant has a modern setup, and the machine that helps deliver food to tables is a great idea and definitely a plus.

That said, when the restaurant gets busy, service can take a long time. It can be difficult for staff to fully keep up, so I’d recommend adding more bussers or servers to better handle the number of guests—especially since this is a buffet and requires frequent refills and attention to tables. That being said, I do understand the challenge, given the higher demand and constant food turnover.

Overall, the food is good, the atmosphere is enjoyable, and with a little patience, the experience is still worth it. One note: I wouldn’t recommend the sushi, but the hot pot itself is the highlight.

A good spot if you’re patient, enjoy hot pot,

This might be the best lunch deal in Schaumburg! For just $15.99, Shabu-You delivers an incredible hot pot experience with fresh ingredients, generous meat selections (pork, chicken, and beef), and a buffet that has everything — noodles, curry, veggies, sides, sauces, and some tasty desserts. The staff was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s such a cozy and clean spot too. A+!

Went for the lunch specials. The buffet section is amazing. Lots of great quality vegetables. Refill items quickly, Highlights that I don’t see at other places are the very tasty self service pancakes machine and croissant waffle. Dessert section highlight is the mochi with soy powder and red beans filling. Surprise to have Tokoyaki in the all you can eat section. Lastly there is a USB outlet to charge the phone if you bring your own cord. Which makes the experience to another level.

We were here for the second time celebrating my daughter’s birthday. There were 5 of us, so we were split between adjoining booths because we each got our own pot. It was great not being jammed into a booth designed for 4 people. The blinds in the wall between the booths can be raised to you can all see each other – and there’s no aisle in the middle.

The food was good and we had plenty of time to eat our fill. I never got a chance to try a croffle (dough ran out and then a big line), but maybe next time.

Our waiter, Alex, was great! He was friendly and funny. He definitely went above and beyond. We were right next to the cotton candy machine and when he heard my wife talking about it, he “snuck” her a bag while we were still eating. Of course, we had some when we were done, and he even gave me a bag to take home.

Indoor temperature way too warm to even let you have appetite for anything. Food not fresh, so be prepared for the aftermath. Premium selections of the meats are rubbery. The mystery broths are too watered down and have no flavors whatsoever. This place used to be okay when they were newly opened, but we will NOT go back.

I’ve been coming here every year to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately this year was unacceptable. The changes they’ve made has made it feel like it is no longer worth the price you’re paying. I can appreciate that our server was very kind and was able to speak Spanish to my dad but we had ordered sushi multiple times and they never arrived. We also ordered takoyaki which never arrived. We ordered meat and waited much longer than other tables did for their meats. Upon bringing this up to our server he said that the kitchen more than likely messed up our order and that if we reordered it should come out. Well when we reordered nothing came. All of our broths barely had any flavor as well, we ordered 3 chicken, 1 kelp, 1 korean and 2 spicy miso. The spicy miso only had flavor because it was spicy. We had to add lots of salt and even soy sauce to get it to give our meat and noodles some type of flavor. This used to be one of my family’s favorite places but unfortunately we will no longer be going.
