Typically nice and quiet! Really good atmosphere and the meat is great. A little pricey at the end of the day, but not without good reason. The staff and patient and helpful, portions are good and you always leave feeling full and satisfied. I’ve gone a few times with friends and I’ll definitely be back

Decent place if you aren’t close to Boston at all! Great selection of meats. I tried the prime rib. Amazing. You can do a duo broth here. The ingredients come out with a beautiful presentation. The decor is really nice. The bathroom could use some work.

Finally went out to check this place out. Because me and my wife have had a new love for hot pot. Only then was that we went with a big family because it was her birthday. This place can’t really set set up for more than 8 people which is a dumb side but we made the most of it. They charge for the broth which I think should be included with the hotspot. So that sucks, but all in all the food, the service, the atmosphere everything was good. The drinks were decent too but could be a little stronger.Nice place to go if you’re going on a date or just a few of you

Overall the food was great and the restaurant had a nice confronting and inviting atmosphere. The service was also good. We ordered the largest beef option and the meat had good portions but the veggies as seen in the photos were not to much. The price was on the more expensive side for hot pot compared to others in the Mass area but the quality of the food was excellent. If we were in the area we would go back again.

The food was fresh and delicious. First time trying hot pot, the staff were very patient and attentive with walking us through the options. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Special thank you to woman behind the bar, so friendly and welcoming!

Super chic and cozy ambiance with really great hotpot options. Servings are also large and plentiful. The beef party option is served in a unique wooden tray with layers of wood assembling a stair. They have plenty of seatings that large enough for groups but also plenty of seating for small groups with super cozy booths. We chose the Mongolian and Spicy Mala broth. They all tasted fantastic. We also had a mushroom set that are super fresh and plentiful. Overall, we had a really great experience and will highly recommend Shabu Shack. Easy parking as well on the street.

Came with a couple of friends and had a great time! Food was good. We got a couple of different items including the meat platter. 10/10 for presentation however, there wasn’t that much meat. They also charged us extra for condiment trays when we asked for some chili peppers without telling us that it would be an extra charge (since the initial trays were complimentary) so that was a little weird. Overall, I would come back.

I will never be recommending anyone to come here ever. This place has a rule where it says that you are allowed to dine for 90 minutes but only able to order in the first 60 minutes and limits to only ten items per order. I came out with my family excited to eat hotpot and enjoy dinner as a family with this knowledge. However, each item portion is small, and extremely delayed on delivering the items on the table. Not only this, after each order you must wait 5 minutes before ordering from the menu again, which basically restricts the purpose of all you can eat and defeats the entire experience. Every order of meat consisted of 2-4 slices of meat no matter that amount of plates you requested in that one order. I explained my concern to a server, and requested to speak to a manager. I came to find out that not only did another server approached me and asked about my concern, there was no manager on duty. This shows an extreme lack of leadership in Shabu Shack’s industry and shows that this place is strictly ran by poor management. After we expressed our concern, the server expressed an apology, provided an extra 2 plates of meat after our 60 minute order period was over and said, “We will do better next time.” There will not be a next time, do better Shabu Shack!

We’ve been to this restaurant several times, and while the food has always been just okay for the price ($29.99 for all-you-can-eat hotpot), this most recent visit was a new low.

First, the selection at the self-serve bar has become very limited compared to before. They still have a 90-minute dining limit, which is standard, but they’ve now added a hidden rule that we had never been told about: you can only place orders during the first 60 minutes of the meal.

What makes this worse is how they apply it. More than half of our party arrived a bit later, and the first few people who arrived were told to go ahead and start by choosing the soup bases. What they did not tell us was that this action would start the 60-minute countdown, even though not everyone had arrived and no actual eating had begun. By the time everyone was there and ready to order, most of that hour had already passed—without any warning from staff.

On top of that, the portions they bring out are extremely small, and the serving speed is painfully slow. We would finish what little they brought each round and end up just sitting and waiting for the next one, which made the 60-minute ordering window feel even more restrictive and unfair.

When we asked about this unclear policy, we were told to wait for the manager—who took nearly 20 minutes to come over. And when she finally arrived, she spoke to us with a condescending attitude and essentially said, “What more can you expect for $29.99?” The contempt in her tone was shocking.

I’m not sure how other customers feel, but we’re done with this place. We won’t be coming back and we DO NOT recommend it to anyone. No restaurant should treat customers with that level of disrespect.

We visited this restaurant today and had a disappointing experience. The menu selection has become very limited compared to before, and the overall service was extremely slow. Some items, like the mushrooms and edamame, were not fresh. No matter how much you order, they only serve very small portions each time, which makes the dining experience frustrating and unsatisfying.

It’s also not a good deal. They only allow one hour to place orders, yet the food comes out so slowly that it feels like they’re wasting your time on purpose. Overall, this really affected our meal, and I do not recommend this place.
