This place is very fun! Love the rotary aspect, lots of items in the menu, drinks (NA and alcohol), great place for kids even if they aren’t big eaters! It’s an experience for them.

I came here on a Sunday around 1pm and there were three of us. We got the lower priced package which was $34/ person, under 6 is free.

It was meat heavy, but the veggies / lots of fish options come through on the conveyer belt.

I didn’t think that the veggies were very fresh or that there were enough veggie options. They didn’t have white potatoes, or tofu balls. If you’re more into hotpot for the veggie delight this place might not be right for you.

We got the spam fries which were good and very hot, a side of fries for my kiddo, and the steak sushi (fully cooked steak on a rolled rice).

I got a hot tea, which tasted like fish water. And a sparkling water that was good.

Overall it was an experience, I did smell like stock when I left but it was good.

I was so stoked to try this place. I had to add my name to a waitlist for a party of one and they would call me when my table was ready. It was about a 20-minute wait. But then I was seated at the counter next to another single. I ordered the top package which was everything (including all the meats) and dessert. You get 90minutes total and use an ipad in front of you to add meats and it comes via a train.

You can also mix your own sauces at their sauce bar. There are some great options. I made my own and tried one of the housemade sauces.

The RIBEYE was my favorite of everything I ate. All the food was fresh, easy to cook, and amazing. It doesn’t fill you up too quickly so you can try plenty of items. There are something like 60+ items on the conveyor belt to try. Most give you instructions on how long to cook in your hot pot broth.

You can get your broth refilled as it evaporates too….and drinks are extra, except for water, which is ice cold and such a welcome treat with one of the spicy sauces I tried.

I also had the mango pudding dessert, which resembles a little character…so cute! I will go back and would love to visit with friends to make it more of a social engagement.

The service was also TOP NOTCH!!! And don’t be intimidated because it’s easy -anyone can do Hot Pot – but you can ask for help and they will show you the ropes.

Went to Shabu Plus Rotary Hot Pot for dinner when I was in town a month ago. I can see why this place is so popular. The service was top notch for a hot pot location and the facility was very clean.

Meat selections were plentiful and all the meat offerings looked fresh. I also loved how the food came out on the train (the novelty never wears out, lol)

On the night we were there, the veggie selections looked fresh, but was a little limited (not a deal breaker). I was also surprised at how many different selections of noodles they had. Soup base was also very well seasoned, as it should be. The dessert was also a nice way to end the dinner and it wasn’t too sweet.

Overall, a solid option for hot pot in Chicago that would rival any location we have locally in Vancouver.

I had the best time at Shabu Plus Rotary Hot Pot in Wicker Park! First off, I was greeted so kindly when I entered the restaurant. The staff is so friendly. I was greeted by someone who was so kind asking me how I was doing. And then once seated someone right away helped me with the tablet to order and they were also were so friendly and asked me how I was doing along with the person who then brought my hot pot broth they also asked me how I was doing. I can’t reiterate enough how friendly and kind the staff were. I loved the sweet potato. I don’t know if it was the sukiyaki broth or my hot pot sauce I made but the star of the show was the sweet potato for me. I will definitely be coming back to this hot pot spot all winter season long and good thing in Chicago that’s long. The lunch deal of $17.99 is great you can’t beat it and they offer stamp cards. They also have a claw machines which I really had to show self restraint in not playing but definitely next time along with their free dessert that they offer!

I can’t express how wonderful this experience was! Living in Chicago for over two decades, I usually prefer not to eat out, but this was exceptional. You have an hour and thirty minutes for unlimited dining, starting with a broth of your choice and adding meat and veggies to your pot. A train delivers your food, and there’s a rotating bar for you to pick items. You can’t return empty containers to the rotating bar; you must leave them on the table for the server.

Cooking takes less than ten minutes, and pre-cooked options are available, too. Expect to spend between $80 and $100 for two people, and the food is healthy and customizable. You can add your tip at the end because it is not included. The desserts are fantastic, and there’s a spice bar for extra flavor.

The only downside is the time limit and no take-home leftovers; you’ll be charged if you take a lot of food without using or finishing it. It’s OK to have leftovers on the table, but too much will incur an additional cost. Alcohols are a separate fee. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and make sure to add it to your bucket list!

Hot pot is great here, and everyone gets their own individual pot. You can grab food items from the conveyor belt, which makes the experience fun and interactive. The staff was kind and explained how everything works, even though it was a little confusing at first. This place gets busy on the weekends, we had to add our name to the list and waited about an hour, which was exactly what they estimated. You will definitely leave feeling full! The staff is attentive, and your appetizers are even delivered by a cute little train, which is a fun touch.

Delicious! The design of the rotating food items and the delivery of proteins was quick, and we never waited long for anything to be “delivered” to our table. The concept was just fun. The service was very good. The price was very good at $42 pp, considering all the food options available for that $42. And everyone got just what they wanted. We enjoyed ourselves and hope to return soon.
As a bonus, it was my daughter’s birthday month and she got her meal for free.

Fantastic hot pot restaurant! Reasonable price, lots of options, fresh ingredients, clean and comfortable environment. It wasn’t made clear to us that the birthday deal doesn’t apply to lunch hour (despite clarifying before we sat down). Regardless, we still have a great time!

I took my friends here to try hot pot for the first time and they LOVED it. It was a hit! Kevin was an amazing host and explained everything step-by-step. Him and the rest of his team were really nice, helpful, and did not judge whatsoever when we had a lot of questions.

The quality of the food is exceptional, we literally didn’t talk to one another because we were so busy stuffing our faces. There’s a huge variety of options for putting in the broth. Kevin also showed us some sauce combinations that were AMAZING for dipping the meat in.

Definitely come in for the lunch special. You really can’t beat the price for all-you-can-eat.

I can’t wait to come again. This is now my go-to for hotpot!!
