I came here on a Sunday around 1pm and there were three of us. We got the lower priced package which was $34/ person, under 6 is free.
It was meat heavy, but the veggies / lots of fish options come through on the conveyer belt.
I didn’t think that the veggies were very fresh or that there were enough veggie options. They didn’t have white potatoes, or tofu balls. If you’re more into hotpot for the veggie delight this place might not be right for you.
We got the spam fries which were good and very hot, a side of fries for my kiddo, and the steak sushi (fully cooked steak on a rolled rice).
I got a hot tea, which tasted like fish water. And a sparkling water that was good.
Overall it was an experience, I did smell like stock when I left but it was good.
You can also mix your own sauces at their sauce bar. There are some great options. I made my own and tried one of the housemade sauces.
The RIBEYE was my favorite of everything I ate. All the food was fresh, easy to cook, and amazing. It doesn’t fill you up too quickly so you can try plenty of items. There are something like 60+ items on the conveyor belt to try. Most give you instructions on how long to cook in your hot pot broth.
You can get your broth refilled as it evaporates too….and drinks are extra, except for water, which is ice cold and such a welcome treat with one of the spicy sauces I tried.
I also had the mango pudding dessert, which resembles a little character…so cute! I will go back and would love to visit with friends to make it more of a social engagement.
The service was also TOP NOTCH!!! And don’t be intimidated because it’s easy -anyone can do Hot Pot – but you can ask for help and they will show you the ropes.
Meat selections were plentiful and all the meat offerings looked fresh. I also loved how the food came out on the train (the novelty never wears out, lol)
On the night we were there, the veggie selections looked fresh, but was a little limited (not a deal breaker). I was also surprised at how many different selections of noodles they had. Soup base was also very well seasoned, as it should be. The dessert was also a nice way to end the dinner and it wasn’t too sweet.
Overall, a solid option for hot pot in Chicago that would rival any location we have locally in Vancouver.
Cooking takes less than ten minutes, and pre-cooked options are available, too. Expect to spend between $80 and $100 for two people, and the food is healthy and customizable. You can add your tip at the end because it is not included. The desserts are fantastic, and there’s a spice bar for extra flavor.
The only downside is the time limit and no take-home leftovers; you’ll be charged if you take a lot of food without using or finishing it. It’s OK to have leftovers on the table, but too much will incur an additional cost. Alcohols are a separate fee. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and make sure to add it to your bucket list!
As a bonus, it was my daughter’s birthday month and she got her meal for free.
The quality of the food is exceptional, we literally didn’t talk to one another because we were so busy stuffing our faces. There’s a huge variety of options for putting in the broth. Kevin also showed us some sauce combinations that were AMAZING for dipping the meat in.
Definitely come in for the lunch special. You really can’t beat the price for all-you-can-eat.
I can’t wait to come again. This is now my go-to for hotpot!!
