I have eaten from the Shabar for years, lovely food, staff and service. However since December 2025 to now February 12th 2026 I’ve had three instances of food poisoning which includes right now as I’m doing this review. Now I’m the kind to give the benefit of the doubt but this many in a short space of time is something i can’t ignore as the only common link is eating from here on the previous night each time. So unfortunately I won’t be eating from here again despite all the good times I’ve have over the years.

Balti Restaurant in the heart of Balti land in Birmingham Lady pool road area. My grandparents originate from the area and what a mecca of eating establishments to choose from. Best way is ask locals and the taxi drivers and SHABAR came out the most.was visiting and dined in with work colleague and it truly came out the best we have ever experienced for long time. Table Nan was enough for 4. Tastes was good. Not licensed but you can take your own alcohol in, but not soft drinks. Fresh mango Lassi was gorgeous.

We have been for a meal only tonight 4 of us before we fly tomorrow we did come previously about 6 months ago and the food,& service was just as good this time would like to say Thank you top quality food and the service was great. Really nice food. The portion sizes were decent, the meat in the lamb bhuna was really good quality, delivery was fast and they even threw in a free extra thing as well. I recommend it.

Had a wonderful meal here for the first time recently. We shared a mixed meat and veggie platter for starters. For mains we had two curries off the specials and a korma, plus a garlic and peshawari naans and a saag paneer on the side. We shared them all between us, and I have to say, everything tasted beautiful we all thoroughly enjoyed everything, thank you
The prices were very reasonable and the service was top class. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others.
