S&G is a fabulous restaurant serving up classic diner fare. Their menu is extensive and truly has something for everyone. There are especially known for their breakfast skillets that are packed with ingredients and come in huge portions.
We went at lunch time so I opted for the gyro sandwich, this place is Greek after all! The gyro was fantastic. The meat was seasoned well and the veggies on top were fresh. The meal came with a soup and side as well. The fries were some of the best I’ve had in a while, fluffy on the inside with a perfectly golden exterior.
Overall this is a must try spot for delicious food, huge portions, and great service.

After our long walk we stopped at S&G for a coffee and a pie to warm up – while visiting Chicago in November. As we walked in we were greeted and seated by a kind staff member and had an amazing slice of fresh and, hot apple pie. If you need a mood boost, definitely try their apple pie! Later the owner came to say hi and gave us some good advice where to go and what to see while we’re in Chicago. Her care and welcome kept us warm on our walk home. A lovely, local restaurant, we would definitely recommend it.

We came with a large group of 8 and they got us seated right away. Our servers were amazing! So many options. We all ordered so many things and everything was delicious not one bad meal, all cooked quickly and well. Great jelly options. The coffee was good. Servers on top of checking with us but also had that delicate touch of not too much. I wish this place was close to home I’d come here all the time. Will for sure come back if I’m ever back in Chicago. Parking was street parking, not too bad.

Great place. Surprisingly big on the inside. Delicious food and fresh coffee. Me and a friend both had skillets. They were large and tasty. Lots of seating, nearby parking abs friendly staff. They have a nice, big menu, I definitely want to come back and try more food. Their waffles look fantastic!
