The only thing in the area is a house and some silos. You feel like you’re at some pizza oasis in the middle of nowhere. The building has a great atmosphere and the staff is friendly, but busy. The pizza was a little different than what I was used to, but nonetheless quite good. My Dad and I had a couple of fancy root beers with the meal.

Every time I am back in NW Iowa I’m begging to get to this hidden gem. When you go, just order every kind of pizza that sounds good to you, and one that you’re maybe a little bit unsure about. You won’t regret it, and you’ll soon find yourself once again traveling to find the elevator in the middle of nowhere that just so happens to also have an old renovated gas station that cooks up the freshest pizza you’ll ever have.

If I could give 10 stars I would. We had an amazing experience at Sfumato on Saturday night. We had a party of eight that was happily accommodated. The menu was a great blend of classic and adventurous for pizza combos. Also freedom to create your own combos. The food was amazing and the atmosphere and service topped it all. Great people. The restaurant is very understated at first glance but the details and the fine touches bring it together into such a fun experience. My boys are students at a town about ten miles from the restaurant and it’s one of their favorites. It’s off the beaten path a bit and that enhances the charm. If you get a chance on the nights they are open, give Sfumato a try. I know I’ll be craving it and back to visit more often. Food, beer, wine, drinks and desserts all phenomenal options. Quote heard from a patron- there’s nothing like this place anywhere around, including Sioux Falls. He was right. Thanks for a great time for our group all coming together to visit from across the country.

A fantastic pizzeria that makes their own pizza dough, cheese, and sauce and then has a brick oven! We had the pepperoni, the Basil, and the BBQ pizza (add bacon!) and they were all fantastic and so fresh! They also have a large selection of craft beer, wine, and local sodas. Fair prices and a fun atmosphere and great service make this pizzeria a gem hidden in the countryside!

Sfumato’s is a great place, loved the atmosphere and the food. The atmosphere is very relaxed, soft upbeat music and non-genre-specific decor fills this place. The pizza was very good and the service was kind and quick. I loved the family business environment, it was great to see into the kitchen and see family members of all ages pitching in. The deserts were fantastic as well. Definitely would go again!
