Food and service were great the first time we came for dinner. Descent portions of food at a affordable price. However when we came on Tuesday fir taco Tuesday. The tacos were very small and lacked the flavor unlike the dinner we had prior. The birria tacos were served on plain corn tortillas and didnt come with the sauce. Then the bill came and the three drinks with no refills were just as much as the 10 tacos. Just be mindful of what you order here

The hype on FaceBook doesn’t do this place justice! I was so surprised that this little Mexican Restaurant serves breakfast at all, let alone the best breakfast I’ve had all year. It was amazing! There was ao much food for such an affordable price. It’s like the prices everywhere in the world went up except this little place… like time stood still with the prices. At Sophia’s (Michigan City) my last breakfast was like $16, but here Marty & my breakfast came to just $18!!
Having chips & salsa at breakfast was a little weird, but she brought them when we sat down. The salsa wasn’t too hot and it was super thick! I liked it
I got the full order of biscuits & gravy, 2 eggs, and I guess it came with home fries (hash browns) too! They couldn’t fit it all on one plate, so it came on two plates. I filled up on the biscuits & gravy and brought the rest home.
Marty got the French toast combo with eggs, and his also came with home fries (hash browns), AND 2 bacon strips, AND 2 sausage links!! His also came on 2 plates. He got filled up on just the French toast and bacon, and he also brought the rest home.
The poor owner was running himself ragged. An employee didn’t show up for work today so he was cooking, AND taking orders, AND prepping for lunch & dinner meals. His wife doesn’t speak any English, but she was helping serve the food. I swear the guy looked like he was going to cry .
They had just recently added Breakfast to the menu to try to help bring in revenue and it’s taken off much more than he expected apparently I can see why! They were full this morning even tho they don’t open til 9am. People were waiting for them to open! Ha ha

Came here on Valentine’s Day weekend for the first time. The food was great and service was awesome! One waitress was literally taking care of 15 tables and she was doing a great job. We look forward to coming back and visiting soon! 10/10 would recommend them!

We were greeted promptly. My wife and I ordered the three enchiladas plates. I had ground beef and my wife ordered just cheese filled. It came fast and hot. The enchiladas were packed with beef. They were also very moist. A lot of times enchiladas can be dry. Not here! It’s the best we’ve had in a while. Friendly service. The restaurant itself is small. Seven booths and four tables. Don’t let that detract you. The owner is the chef so the food is consistent

The first time I went the service was not very good but the food was delicious. I just went back 2 days ago. I asked my waitress if I could have avocado because my sandwich should have had avocado. I showed her. She she snatched my plate and said I hate when the cook argues with me. I have never had someone just take my food like that in any restaurant. Also I have already showed her. He took my sandwich and said it was in there. Anyways I got extremely ill. Was towing up like crazy. I had a feeling it was from my sandwich. I decided to eat the other half the next day because I was hoping it wasn’t from the food or whatever happed to my food when the cook went through my sandwich. I always shear the meats with my dog always. Again was sick like crazy throwing up violently. As was my dog! Eat at your own risk. I would suggest if something is wrong with your food do not say a word. I will never go back here and will tell everyone I know NOT to go here. Also when we asked for more chips n salsa she did not want to give us more. She said ok one more. Also after them going through my sandwich and there was no avocado she asked would I like more like yes there is none! She said it would be almost $2. Like no it would be included. Horrible either it was food poisoning or it was the cook who did something to my food.

Small place I really wish they had a bigger place, but everything else is spot on. You will not get better service. They now have an American breakfast that they serve and it was amazing six of us went and we ordered two extra dishes just to try stuff out. Total bill was $74. The meals are very large. If you have a huge appetite you will not go home hungry. Totally worth leaving the valpo downtown area and traveling here for breakfast. We did call ahead and she had a table for us ready.

My wife and I went for dinner at 6 pm on a Friday night and we were seated right away. This is a small place with about 15 tables. Generally, when we come here, you can get a table right away.
Our server came right over and gave us a menu. The menu is large, and you will find all your favorite Mexican dishes. My wife and I both ordered the enchilada suiza, and I also asked for a bottled Mexican Coke. We then served chips and salsa. The chips tasted like they came right out of a bag and the salsa really didn’t have that much flavor, so I added some hot sauce and that helped.
After a short time, we were brought our meals, and everything looked really good. There was plenty of cheese, sauce, and sour cream. Everything tasted good. My wife also enjoyed her dinner.
This place is a good choice when you are looking for fast service, decent food at a reasonable price. It is rarely packed, and the service is always on point. This is not my favorite Mexican restaurant, but it is one that I go to when I’m in the area and hungry.

Delicious burrito and even better quesadilla. Fantastic tasty cheese sauce. The steak was phenomenal and had so much flavor all on its own. Definitely my favorite of the meats offered. Would return again. Decent prices for the portions.

There were pieces of food on table when we sat down, both my Mom and I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes, they were good, but they weren’t warm. The cheese inside wasn’t even melted. I didn’t complain because it’s the first time that’s happened here. I don’t know if they’re understaffed or what? It’s very unusual for that to happen here. Been here many times before, just making ownership aware.

We discovered Serranos Mexican Grill a little over a month ago and have eaten there 4 times already! The food is excellent! Good Chef! And the service has been great! Thanks Elsa! It’s a clean family restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
