Our trip down memory lane. First are here over 32 years ago. Always special just getting the bean dip and salsa with it some of the best complimentary chips. Did not disappoint. Service was good. Food tasted good. Always get here before the dinner rush. They did almost forget our water, but to be fair, someone else was supposed to bring it and our waiter was a bit mortified.

We are temporarily rehoused in Avondale, but came to Serranos on Gibert Road and McKellips because it has been our family favorite for decades.
Michelle greeted us when we came in. Her bubbly personality and wide smile was so welcoming.
We ordered our meal to go and sat visiting with Michelle while we waited.
She talked about the long term tenure of all the employees. She has worked with them for over 10 years.
She offered us a drink while we waited. She excused herself politely as she waited on other customers but continued to check on us.
A young couple came in with Dutch Brothers coffee for the employees. Their location is right across the street. Michelle thanked them and asked them to let her know in advance when they would return so she could have something for them. I loved the crossover business interaction between them.
Before our order came out she gave us a small gift card for when we returned, shared the information about the rewards program and a card if we wanted to leave a review.
Of course we did!
Serranos is a family based business and I’ve enjoyed their food since arriving in Arizona in 1989.
Please go visit them and make sure Michelle is working!!

This is one of our favorite dinner spots any day of the week. We come here pretty regularly even for some chips and salsa. Our favorite thing to get here besides chips and salsa is the veggie and chicken enchiladas the staff is friendly and very accommodating for any menu items. We will definitely continue coming here for our weekly date nights. Thanks guys for always giving top notch service

This was a delivery. I have been to the restaurant and the atmosphere was always great!!! Again almost all the questions are for inhouse and mine was delivery! Their manager Michelle was GREAT to talk too with questions I had! Professional, knowledgeable and just fun to talk too!!! She is in the McKellips branch. My parents and my favorite restaurant to eat at! Haven’t been back since their death 2000/ 2001. Should go back and relive old memories! I am answering the remaining questions based on past years experience.

Went with a friend for an early dinner (during weekday happy hour) and was pleasantly surprised! Food was fresh, tasty, and presented nicely, and best of all the prices are very reasonable. The reason for this review, however, is the incredible service. The host was warm and friendly, and we had what I assume was a manager stop by towards the end of our meal to “check in.” Our server, Heidi B., was honestly the highlight of the experience. She was so friendly, attentive, and thorough. I let her know of my dietary restrictions (I’m vegan) and she went above and beyond to recommend a custom dish AND ensure the kitchen was aware. She even reassured me as she delivered my meal. Very thankful for her and I hope management knows how much of an asset she is to the restaurant!

There has never been anything negative with any of the Serranos restaurants at all. From the friendliest staff to the fantastic food, nothing can’t beat Serranos. Bean dip and salsa is always a must get with any order. I just wish that there were more in AZ but sadly the numbers are dwindling and it’s very heart breaking for not just me but for a lot of people. This location is the closest to me and it’s worth the drive. Ready the utensils and dig in to authentic Mexican food, you will not be disappointed.

We were on a road trip to the Grand Canyon, and we stopped here to eat lunch. We didn’t expect much, we were just hungry, but let me tell you when I say this was some of the BEST Mexican food we’ve ever had, and we’re from Texas! My husband and I plus our two kids all loved their meals! They were all very friendly and had fast service! I don’t normally write reviews but I just had to leave a 5 Star Review for them because they were so amazing!!
