Serendipity on Market is bringing back the small town market and general store to downtown Frederick, Maryland, with a modern yet comfortable atmosphere. We are focused on keeping our resources as local as possible, concentrating on providing clean, natural and sustainable products, all while maintaining a budget friendly selection for our customers. Guests will not only be able to enjoy local food, but they will also be able to experience pieces from local artists and artisans in our community spaces. These community spaces are also available as rentals for special events and business meetings, with catering options available. We hope to see you soon!

Stopped in today for the first time at lunch and fell instantly in love! This shop is so charming & cute!! It’s got great seating, a little pantry filled with different goodies to buy, and the Cuban panini (today’s special) was out of this world The service was wonderful and you can tell they really care about you when you walk in. If you’re looking for coffee, this may not be the best spot right now. When we arrived, no one was at the register for a several minutes, and once we placed our order there were some limitations (only medium cups available, no cream). My iced latte came in a hot drink cup, and unfortunately my mom’s decaf iced coffee never arrived. We had to leave after waiting about 20 minutes for a reservation. The latte we did get was just ok.
The only thing I can to its credit, is that the staff is friendly and nice.
The space itself looks like it’s in the middle of a rebrand, so maybe things are still in transition. Hopefully with a little more polish and consistency, it could be a much better experience.

I am currently writing this review at a Starbucks because the food here was so bad. I ordered avocado toast, thinking it was a safe option at a new restaurant. It was advertised as avocado, cured egg yolk, olive oil, and house seasoning on sourdough bread. After waiting in an empty lobby for 20 minutes, the food I received was untoasted multigrain bread with hummus, 3 slivers of avocado, and something I am assuming was supposed to be egg on top. Additionally, my friend received the incorrect drink order and our coffee tasted watered down. We were able to get a cash refund, thankfully, but I will not be returning to this establishment.

Serendipity on Market is a casual sandwich/coffeehouse/market. It’s very laid back, serving fresh made food and coffee, with a small market that carries limited grocery and produce items. We got a late start to the day, didn’t stop in till early afternoon, but they were nice enough to make us some Avocado Toast from the breakfast menu. We also got a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough, and a vanilla latte. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back.

I came here a few days prior and got a hot coffee. It was decent, my standards aren’t the highest and it got the job done. My friend ordered a breakfast burrito and only ate half. She was not pleased with it. Came back today and she got a hot latte and I got an iced latte. Mine came in the same cup as hers which should not be the case. More importantly the coffee was so bad we tossed it immediately and went elsewhere. We didn’t think to say anything because the woman who took our order seemed confused as to what we ordered and how to ring up a simple card payment. My coffee order is pretty basic, and I’ve never tasted anything as bad as what I had today.

I met the owners at another business and they lured me in with the mention of carrot cake. I have to say I was not disappointed and the carrot cake was the best I’ve had EVER!!! I’ve had one of their breakfast sandwiches and I loved it I love the way they souffle their eggs. Try everything it will all be delicious because they make their food with great energy and love.

Downtown Frederick delicious foods. Deli cheeses. Many Gluten free selections! Even some convenient grocery items! Homemade carrot cakes, roasted coffees,. breakfasts, lunches and pastries. inside and outside seating, carry out and online delivery. Child friendly. You’ve got to check this out. I go there frequently for a quick snack or special sodas.

My go-to place for lunch in dtf. the sandwiches and little side salad are delicious. The lemon dressing is literally my favorite thing ever. Prices are really fair for the food quality and taste. Employees always go out of their way to be kind. Truly love this place!

Super nice people working here! They were really accommodating and kind and the vibes were so good!! I came in with 2 of my friends/coworkers and they both had food which they really enjoyed. And I had a really good lemon muffin. I was able to use the wifi there to get some work done. The music was such a vibe 🙂 go here y’all!!
