Pelicana Chicken in Rockville was a great lunch find. I went with my son after a busy morning, and we started with the Soy Garlic Dumplings — crispy on the outside, flavorful inside, and perfectly cooked. Then, of course, we had their famous Korean fried chicken — we went with the Sweet & Spicy wings and a side of Corn Cheese. The wings were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and that sweet-and-spicy glaze hit all the right notes. The corn cheese was rich, creamy, and honestly could be a meal on its own.
I noticed some mixed reviews online — a few one- and two-star comments here and there — but I already had this place on my list to try, so we went anyway. Honestly, we had no issues at all. Everything came out hot, tasty, and exactly as expected. We left completely satisfied and would definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

We ordered the king pork cutlet, original rice cake, and sweet & spicy chicken. The king pork cutlet was too thin and dry. The original rice cakes were chewy, but the texture wasn’t very pleasant, and the sauce was just so-so. I’ve honestly had better from frozen packs at the supermarket. The chicken itself was fried well, as expected from a chicken place, but the sauce tasted a bit bland. Overall, not somewhere I’d be excited to revisit.

I saw the Pelicana Chicken sign, I opened the restaurant door and went in, and I thought I went in wrong at first because a stand with Korean snacks and ramen was placed in the center of the passage from the entrance to the dining hall. So I came out again and checked the sign, and it was Pelicana Chicken.
I usually eat Pelicana Chicken at the Irvine or Buena Park branches in California, and the chicken at both locations is delicious.
However, the chicken I had here was so different from the taste I had in California.
The chicken wasn’t marinated well. Portions were generous, but each piece was so large it was difficult to eat.
So, I ended up leaving the chicken behind.
The restaurant is spacious and the staff are friendly, but the chicken, most importantly, was disappointing.
I wish they‘d removed the snack and ramen stand at the entrance.

I came here because of an IG reel. But this was probably the worst Korean food to come out from a professional kitchen I’ve had in years. Everything was over-fried, stale, and just done wrong. The king donkassu which is a super thin pork-cutlet was dark brown, not golden, and hard to chew with a sesame dressing instead of a proper donkassu sauce. The Korean corn dogs were the kind that you can buy frozen at the grocery store and clearly not made in house. And I’ve never had a kimchi pancake that had the texture of a fried pita chip before. Absolutely awful experience. Do not recommend. Idk how you mess up such simple staples. And it’s crazy to charge $8 for ramen I can buy at the market as a base price before adding any toppings

The food here is amazing. The flavor is super good, we recently tried the bulgogi quesadilla and it was perfect (not too greasy or too sweet). We love their hotpot’s and recommend their rice cake dishes! 10/10 would recommend – it’s much more than just a chicken place.

Seoul Kitchen has an incredible boneless chicken — the best chicken in this area.
Especially the Snow Onion flavor; it’s a taste I’ve never had before.
I want to keep coming back just to eat this.

The dining experience was unfortunately underwhelming. The excessive saltiness of the fried chicken overpowered its flavor, and the sauce was applied too liberally. While the servers were polite and welcoming, it proved difficult to flag them down when needed. This made the overall experience less enjoyable. The atmosphere was pleasant, but the food itself fell short of expectations. Improvements in the kitchen and service responsiveness would greatly enhance future visits.

I must say – I am IMPRESSED!
This is our third-time trying Pelicana chickens. Honestly the first two times the chickens were underwhelming. It was not bad at all but we had higher expectations.
This time though, we saw “substantial” improvements. I had boneless signature soy garlic boneless chicken (half), my husband had crispy spice fried chicken (half), and our kids had Peli Cream Pasta. The pasta was absolutely amazing. Our kids were absolutely fascinated with it. My husband and I had to beg them for a bite.
The crispy fried chicken was super moist inside and unbelievably crispy outside. The soy garlic chicken was very tender and moist inside and the batter was amazingly flavorful.
We were glad we gave it another try. Oddly it’s even rewarding to see local business listen to customer feedback (other reviews) and make improvements. I wish them continue to thrive. Definitely the best chicken we had in a long time.

Okay but this place is EVERYTHING . The chicken is sooo crispy and flavorful, like no crumbs left behind. But the best part?? They just dropped a ramen station, loaded fries, AND a Korean corn dog Literally my new obsession
The owner is also the sweetest person ever made us feel so welcome like we were regulars.
10/10 recommend if you wanna eat good AND vibe. This was already one of my top favs and it’s getting ✨
