It took us almost one hour to get there. The restaurant is located in an old building which makes it look a little strange from the outside, but their entrance stands out and looks totally different, so it is easy to spot. When we walked in, the inside was nicely decorated and surprisingly big. There was no wait at all and we got seated right away.
One thing I really loved is that the place is run by elderly ladies. It made me feel like I was at home and they were like moms and grandmas cooking for me. They were super friendly and very kind.
They have a huge menu because they also serve Korean BBQ, but it is not all you can eat. You order by plate, which can be pricey, but the quality is much better.
We only ordered two meals because the food is on the pricey side, but honestly the portion sizes were enough for both of us.
Their banchan was really good, and I especially liked the tofu. Here is what we ordered:
• Bulgogi Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap (B5): Bibimbap served in a hot stone bowl that stays hot for about ten to twelve minutes. It keeps your food warm the whole time, which I love.
• Soondooboo Combo, LA Galbi plus Seafood Soondooboo: This is listed under TC1 on the menu but I asked if I could switch it to seafood and they said yes. They are very flexible with requests. Everything came out piping hot and super fresh.
We enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was amazing and the service was even better. They work together as a team and help every table, not just their own.
Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely come back. I understand the high price because the ingredients, inventory, and spices are expensive, but my husband went to Korea and said dishes are much cheaper there. We just think that if the price could be a little lower it would be even better.
Everything was nice and good. Happy stomach means happy
The servers are friendly and accommodating. I’ve probably been here about 6 times in 2023.
The micro fish grilled is nothing short of perfection, offering a unique and delicious culinary experience. The meat, whether barbecue or otherwise, remains consistently tender, juicy, and flavorful, boasting a delightful texture that adds to the overall dining pleasure.
Among the favorites is the seafood pancake, a true standout that never disappoints with its delectable taste and satisfying texture. Additionally, the seafood soup is a flavor-intensive masterpiece, loaded with a variety of high-quality ingredients that elevate the taste to a whole new level.
Throughout the years, Seoul Garden has maintained impeccable service standards, ensuring that each dining experience is met with efficiency and warmth. As a long-time patron, I can confidently say that Seoul Garden remains a go-to destination for exceptional Korean cuisine in Houston. For those craving an authentic and delightful Korean dining experience, Seoul Garden undoubtedly deserves a spot on the list of must-visit restaurants.
You can cook your own Korean barbecue.
We left the cooking up to the experts.
The best kimchi I’ve ever had.
The best mulmandu (dumplings), too.
Everything — roasted eel (jahng-uh gui) and beef (bulgogi bibimbap) were delicious.
We also splurged on Korean rice wine (makgeolli) – which is served and drink in a very particular way. It tasted a bit like sake. Very enjoyable.
Very clean restaurant.
I love that there’s a doorbell that you can push at your own table for service.
Every single staff member was incredibly kind and polite, and willing to help us navigate our way through our meal.
