As someone with years of Mexican food cooking experience this is a definite spot to try out. I had the Hot Cheeto Carne asada burrito and it was absolutely delicious. The salsa bar gives a flavor and spice boost that suits your tastes preferences. The entire venue was spotless and the service was awesome.

My wife and I have lived in LA for the past year and have tried countless taco carts across the city. On our way out of California, we stopped in La Mesa at Señor Taquero Taco Shop — and ended up having the best tacos we’ve ever eaten.
Ron is an incredibly friendly guy, and his food is on another level. We ordered cabeza, lengua, fish, and shrimp tacos, and every single one was amazing. The lengua especially was the best we’ve had anywhere — tender, flavorful, perfect.
He even gave us tripa to try for free, and it completely blew us away. It wasn’t fried like most places do; instead, it was soft, rich, and delicious. Truly exceptional.
As we leave California, this ended up being the perfect final meal — unforgettable food and a great experience. Highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through La Mesa. Ron, thank you!

New taco shop nearby. Looks well done inside with a nice big menu. Restrooms available. Has salsa section to grab your own salsa, limes etc.. ordered 4 birria tacos $10 and 6 rolled tacos. $7. Food tasted good and was ready pretty quick. Pricing was great compared to others outrageous pricing. Will be back.

A Fresh New Spot for Tacos
Señor Taquero is a brand new taco spot that opened in July 2024, and everything looks pristine—beautiful light fixtures, sleek white walls, a modern black-and-white theme, and spacious black tables and chairs. They’ve even got a few TVs and a somewhat empty-looking restroom. The large kitchen area promises a lot of potential.
I went for the 3 Taco Special and tried the adobada, fish, and carnitas tacos. The adobada had perfectly marinated pork with rich flavors, and the carnitas were tender and flavorful. The fish taco was an excellent combo of crispy fried fish, mayo, and chopped cabbage—everything worked together nicely. I also ordered a carne asada taco as an extra, and the beef was cut to just the right size and seasoned perfectly.
The staff were super friendly, and while the place isn’t widely known yet, I really hope more people discover this hidden gem. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Hey flavor! Nice to meet you. I’m your neighbor that likes to eat you. Here’s the deal: if you are tired of taco shops that serve gristle instead of meat, charges you .25 for an extra salsa, lacks flavor and only serves beef rolled tacos, then come here! Lots of seats and 4 tvs if you want to eat here with you or a group, a free salsa bar and chips, parking in the front & back and service is quick. With so many options around, this is our go to taco shop (especially for their rolled tacos and shrimp burritos). If you haven’t tried them, you’re missing out! Nom nom nom

Glad we finally tried this place, it was great. Love all the veggie options, the bean cali burrito (veggie supreme) had great filling and flavor. And the portions are HUGE. Salsas appropriate ranged from spicy to mild. Can’t wait to try more items next time we order.

Tried this place for the first time and were not disappointed. The tacos are delicious! Chicken was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The assorment of salsas was a wonderful surprise and the overall vibe was really nice. Would 100% recommend. This is now my favorite place for Mexican food.

This new Mexican spot is excellent! I’ve been a couple times now to get the California breakfast burrito, the ham is cooked perfect and the fries are a delicious combo. It’s a huge burrito and their complimentary chips are great. Give this spot a chance, it’s worth it!

This place has amazing every day values . And the regular priced items are great too. Flavorful, good portions, and large selection, with plenty of condiments too. And on certain occasions there is live entertainment. So you can eat your favorites and enjoy music too.
