Tucked in the sun-soaked vibes of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Señor Taco 2’s “Mom’s Secret” Chile Verde Burrito is a family heirloom wrapped in tortilla gold. This beast bursts with tender pork simmered in a velvety green chile sauce that’s equal parts fiery kick and soul-soothing warmth—like a desert hug from your abuela. The rice and beans inside? Perfectly fluffy, soaking up every spicy whisper without stealing the show. One bite, and you’re hooked: it’s hearty, homemade heaven that hits harder than a monsoon storm. If you’re craving authentic Mexican magic that feels like a guarded recipe passed down generations, this is your spot. Pro tip: Pair it with their horchata for the ultimate cool-down. Five stars—don’t sleep on this hidden gem!

Tacos were more expensive but bigger than what most other places offer. $17 before tax for two tacos, rice, & beans. The screen didn’t prompt for a tip so hopefully the higher prices just mean more automatically goes to employees (wish more were this way). Not busy on a Sunday afternoon and food was out quick. Good service for being a counter-ordering place. I wish they still served coffee as I would rather support them than Starbucks. I would be happy with just simple black coffee (or Mexican coffee).

Can’t believe how low the standards are in Fountain Hills!
Can’t get refried beans without lard. So I got pinto beans in a vegetarian burrito. They don’t even offer black beans at all! Seriously?

The tortilla was not even warmed up. I couldn’t find guacamole in my burrito. The cheese wasn’t melted. Couldn’t find the sour cream either. The whole thing lacked flavor, ingenuity, any degree of talented formula.

How hard is it to make a delicious burrito for $12.00?
Not rocket science!
I also ordered a Margarita 10 minutes before Happy Hour! Paid full price and got a super tiny plastic Margarita glass with about half of a normal Margarita. Tiny straws made it impossible to drink so I kept spilling it on myself. Just so tacky. And it literally had zero impact. Sugar drink. Ugh.

The environment feels like a cafeteria.

You throw out your own dishes.

Nonetheless they want tips.

$22.00 lunch plus $2.00 tip basically ate a few bites and gave up.

The veggie burrito should be $6.00 they overcharge
Although I wouldn’t buy it for $6.00 anyway

Unpleasant, unsatisfied, unhappy. Yikes.

If you pay that much for basically a tortilla and beans with sour cream and unrelated cheese, ingredients cost $0.80
Aka 80 cents….at least make it taste good.

Not going back .

Although the food LOOKS GOOD, the ingredients tasted old and not fresh. The pico de gallo inside the burrito was disgusting! The employees were all on their phone and talking amongst themselves while people were in line to take orders. This place is extremely overpriced and not worth the money. The food is not fresh at all.

Delicious shrimp burritos. Chipotle shrimp is now my favorite. If you like the spice, Diablo shrimp is Delicious. They don’t skimp on the shrimp.

I hate leaving a bad review, but I’ve tried both the drive thru and dining in multiple times. Food is always sub par and extremely expensive for what you get. I’ve ordered a variety from the menu because I’m in such a need for a good Hispanic place in my neighborhood. Just sucks this place simply isn’t good. I suspect the good reviews to be from Ftn Hills citizens who are used to all the other sub par Hispanic places in town. But still odd how I would put Senor Taco 2 below all of them.
