Our waitress was a local and was so sweet, friendly and attentive! It’s definitely a “hole in the wall” place that we always like to find! The outside and inside are older but everyting seemed clean. We ended up having chicken fajitas and the chicken enchilada and the portions are huge! Not seasoned as well as I would like, but still good Mexican food. Happy to see a “non chain restaurant” still in business!! Check it out! Be sure and get the macaroni as a side–it sounds a little weird but you won’t regret it!!

This is a must try!!! Never been here before & with the service that was given it was truly a great choice. Make sure when you come here & if it’s your 1st time they will bring out every chili or Sauce they have to let you test Try to see whats your desired flavor. From medium to burning hot! The food on the other level is insane. These plates are full the portion of the food you get it insane. We got the giant chicken enchiladas
& a bean & cheese burrito supreme with guacamole & sour cream! With rice & beans. They took a while to come to our table so our waiter gave us a free appetizer of our choice! Which was even more food! We chose the bean dip, which was another great choice. There was nothing small about this place, I mean every meal we ordered was a huge amount! The environment was a happy comfortable place, all the workers were so friendly & very attentitive to every one the place was constantly packed. Our waitress was jeniece & she was awesome!! Very friendly & made our visit even better!! Overall I loved it!! I’ll be back for sure! & next time I’ll be sure to try there famous Margaritas!!

Food was good. Service people were prompt and attentive. Portions were generous but should be based on pricing beans were good but pass on the rice. Inside is better than outside which was offputting to me but went in because it was recommended and I was satisfied.

I’ve been going to Señor Manuel’s since I moved here nineteen years ago. My family has been friends with the owners and staff (props to Billy—I think that’s his name—who is one of Manuel’s best employees) for a long time. It’s a great place that serves quality Mexican food. One of the best Mexican food restaurants in Colorado Springs. Prices are low to average and the servings are plentiful. The chips aren’t stale and the salsa has a nice spice! The queso is a great price as it comes in a big sharing-sized dish. I’m not a drinker, but I know that the alcoholic refreshments are a hit. If I want Mexican food in Colorado Springs, I am going to Señor Manuel’s!

10/10 for me. They (wisely) do not use cilantro. The burrito supreme is enormous. I asked for a non alcoholic cocktail and I got this amazing strawberry peach frozen drink with some whip cream on top. It was outstanding. I think some might complain that the food was bland. It is not bland, it is mild. Nothing is overly spicy. Salsa is more tomatoe flavor with a small hint of chili compared to others.

The portion sizes here are just as big as I remember from 20 years ago. The margaritas are strong and the staff is very welcoming. Two people can easily order an entree to split and then enjoy drinks and a dessert.

When I hear people say that Colorado Springs has terrible Mexican food, I imagine the people that are giving this place good reviews on google are the ones telling those people to eat here! I am not the type to be too critical or send food back but I have to say something to spare a family from wasting their money at this place. #1 the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. $120 for a family of 6, 3 kid menu orders and water ONLY and no dessert. A side of beans, not rice and beans, just beans is $6.25! My husband is convinced they are from a can. #2 the menu is unusual but not in a unique fun way. Macaroni for a side dish?? Yuck! #3 the flavor and texture of the food is AWFUL! The carne asada, which is an expensive plate, was the driest piece of beef I’ve ever tasted! The shredded beef in the chimichanga (picture below)was somehow WORSE! I should have dipped it in some water to make it easier to chew and safely swallow! Cheese is sprinkled on the rice and beans. That’s a huge red flag! My husband was right when he said the rice tasted like spaghetti-o’s! How is that possible?? I usually try to take our leftovers home from other restaurants but absolutely no way this time. I understand the economy makes everything difficult for local businesses but this place has lost a since of pride in quality and has decided to punish their customers for the sake of staying open and turn a profit. I want my husband to call tomorrow and get a refund because it was that bad. If anyone from management sees this, go ahead and respond to my review. Let’s have a chat! It’s not fair to your waitstaff to be excellent servers yet they have to pretend to like the food and offer recommendations to customers. Shameful!

To be honest, I saw the restaurant and really wanted generic Mexican food, but this was far from generic. It had great portions, and the service was just amazing.
With that being said –
I would say the upcharges are super high for minimal stuff, and the overall cost just isn’t worth it for the flavor. Want a side of sour cream? 4.99. Want a drink? 4.99. Want to change the type of salsa/chili on your food? 4.99. When we were told “small upcharge,” I expected 1-2 bucks but was surprised to see 4.99.
Free chips and salsa were gross – salsa had no chunks and tasted like tomato sauce. The chips were too thick and tasted like crackers for some reason.
Tamales al-a-carte 11.99 + 4.99 (smother) + 4.99 (sour cream), so 22 bucks for 2 tamales.
Enchiladas (2 per order) with rice and beans 19.95 + 4.99 because i wanted a different smother sauce. 25 bucks fot 2 enchiladas with beans and rice.
1 iced tea – 4.95.
My son got an asada burrito smothered 19.95 for the burrito and 4.99 for the smother.
1 iced tea – 4.95
Ended up being $100 after tip for 2 people. The #1 best part or the entire experience was our amazing waitress. She was the only thing that kept us there and kept the overall score where it is at.

This place is worth far higher reviews. I was craving good Mexican and chose this place on a whim while visiting the Springs and DAMN! Some of the best I’ve had in Colorado. The homemade chips are amazing, the Rumchata cocktail was bomb, the pan-fried taco was delish and rice n beans were a cheesy casserole of goodness. This is one of those places worth driving outta the way for!
