I have had two very pleasant experiences at Senju. The service is superlative. I can’t eat there without wanting this business to thrive. The food is an excellent value but I would eat there for the experience alone, with he head chef welcoming every guest into an ensconced little embassy of Japanese cuisine.
The food is pretty good. It is excellent for Windsor and a strip mall sushi place. If you pay attention to things like the marble-ing on your fish, you won’t be disappointed but you might not be thrilled if you are unrealistic and a snob. The rice is notably good, which it should be better because it is a sushi restaurant but overlooked in a world of retail sushi.
The miso is balanced, not too rich and not too watery. I am very frugal so I guess I am not crazy about the price, which aren’t exorbitant, but you get what you pay for in this case.
Senju is a well kept, unassuming secret that I don’t mind sharing with people who have informed opinions about sushi.

Excellent sushi. Great service. My wife and I really enjoy going here. One of my favorite places to eat in Windsor. The owners work hard to make sure every guest is satisfied. Nice people, too.

I was the only customer ( which in itself is a bad sign) and received poor service. I actually sat there the whole time without a refill. The sushi fell apart with the slightest touch. The rolls, fish in specific, had a not typical texture for fish. Rather mushy.

Good sushi, nigiri were good sized. Owners were really nice and so was the environment. Will be back.

Good food. If the sushi was a bit better it might be the best sushi in the world!
