Voluptuous Vegan
Senae Thai Street Food is one of Tucson’s best-kept flavor secrets, and honestly… why didn’t anyone tell me sooner? I caught this Thai street food truck parked at Crooked Tooth Brewery, and the whole setup just works—moody, low-lit, casually cool, and exactly the kind of spot where incredible food sneaks up on you and steals the entire night.
I had the spicy curry tofu taco and I’m still thinking about it. Total flavor bomb—rich, layered, and spicy in a way that actually delivers. They offer both vegan and non-vegan options, and nothing about the vegan dish felt like an afterthought. Bold, comforting, and wildly satisfying. This is the kind of food truck people quietly gatekeep… but I’m done gatekeeping. I’ll absolutely be tracking them down wherever they pop up next.

Look. Chef Dee is the best! However I think she may of hired someone new, my fiancé and I got two pad thai bowls, one without beansprouts and tofu, one with beef. Usually it’s BOMB, and we don’t get it often (regulars at crooked tooth) but tonight we were feeling a little beer and Thai food. Both of our noodles were still hard, barely any seasoning (which is not normal for this place) we had about 10 bites until we looked at each other and said yeah I’m done. We still had full bowls of food, it was extremely disappointing. Now a couple hours later, we both are sick. Again, we love chef Dee & will not eat unless she’s cooking so this doesn’t happen again. If you don’t see chef Dee, don’t order. Our food was undercooked, tofu tasted funny, and noodles were undercooked. The beef in one bowl was gamey and very tough.

Hard, overlong noodles. Too sweet, too oily, too salty. No balance, no nuance. Won’t be back.

Senae food truck is now located in the back patio of Crooked Tooth and is a new location for an old favorite that closed post covid. The food is just as incredible as before but know that you need to order at the Crooked tooth bar and then you go around back to pick up the food once they notify you via text that it is ready.
