I heard about this hidden gem through a family member and wanted to give it a try. The craft cocktails are amazing and the bartenders can make anything off menu that you want as well. After numerous visits to grab a drink and catch the vibe of the spot I decided to try the food. I got the grilled frisee, the burger, mac&cheese, and the fries twice. The fries are amazing and a great snack for late night food. The burger was good, but I wish there was more toppings like lettuce, tomato, etc. the grilled frisee pork belly was perfectly cooked and a nice balance to the refreshing greens and egg. I found myself a little disappointed as Second Chance came highly recommended from a colleague at work. The staff seemed welcoming and the ambiance was very charming. After about half an hour of waiting for our order to come out, we found ourselves still waiting. I hate asking about timelines for food, but at this point we were starving! We were told, it usually takes 15-20 minutes b/c everything is made to order, to which I replied, it’s been longer than that. They realized they hadn’t put the order in! What I observed was calm from the staff member, but frustration from the cooking staff. That pretty much set the mood. We should have called it a night and went to our regular spot in town; however we decided to stay and see date night through. The drinks were good, and we were even given a small sample of a lovely concoction. One of drinks was comped which was a kind gesture; however, given my husband’s demeanor, I’m certain we won’t return. Mistakes happen; however, checking in to see how patrons are doing, if the food is coming out, that’s all part of good customer service and overall guest experience. Sharing my feedback in hopes that this will be improved for the next patron who decides to try something new.

Such a great late dinner. The interior was super cute with rich, warm, cozy colors that made it easy to settle in and linger. We shared the 24 oz Delmonico, cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and built the rest of the meal around it. The tiradito was fresh and bright, balancing out the richer dishes really nicely. The pâté was smooth and comforting, the pork belly was crispy and tender, and the foie gras was rich without feeling over the top. The chimichurri fingerling potatoes were a standout and hard to stop eating. The cocktails were also thoughtful and intriguing, clearly well-crafted and not an afterthought. Everything felt intentional and made for a relaxed but memorable meal.
