Happened to visit during happy hour. Service and food were both excellent.

We had the redfish tacos and Voodoo chargrilled oysters.

The bread that accompanies the oysters is full of garlicky goodness. I was told the oysters were very good. If it stayed on the grill slightly longer, it would’ve been the best oysters during our NOLA visit. And my tacos were yummy.

For drinks, we had the Corpse Revivor and Old fashioned. The corpse Revivor was nicely balanced. First, you get the citrus notes, then the anise flavors. The old fashioned was decent. Happy hour prices are $9 each for the Timeless Classic cocktails.

Lou was an excellent server. The outdoor seating is pretty nice for people watching and relaxing.

Random nice thing imho, there is a ladies room which is clean with 2 stalls. Many establishments here seem to have unisex washrooms, so I really appreciate when there are ladies rooms available.

Do note, there is a 3.5% credit card fee, so if you want to save that bit, just be prepared with cash.

Solid choice for drinks or food, or both!

We stopped here for lunch today and it was a very pleasant experience.

Our server was nice and attentive. We got some seafood gumbo, crab cake toast and a shrimp po’boy. They all came out very delicious! All breads are properly toasted and crunchy on the outside. The seafood was delicious and fresh. Our waiter also recommend tasty sides since we just need a little bit more to feed the 2 and half group. : )

The restaurant has nice atmosphere, but unfortunately, we were seated next to a table with some loud speakers.

Overall, this is a great place for sitting down meals! : )

Delicious redfish tacos for Happy Hour. Buffalo fried oysters weren’t fried hard despite asking for it to be. Truffle fries were ok… nothing special. The apple cider ginger ale margarita was surprisingly good. Overall food was good.

Service was lacking. We were a big party and the server did not consistently check on us or anticipate needs like paper napkins. He brought one napkin for a table of 10. Also, a drink my colleague requested didn’t have pineapple as stated in recipe. The server asked her to taste and see if she liked. When she stated she didn’t he wouldn’t take the charge off saying we can’t return drinks. Really??? It was an issue on your end!! Another coworker was charged twice for her her Shirley Temple (sprite with cherry juice) The plastic Happy hour menus are dirty and greasy. The women’s bathroom was also messy. The trash can used requires you to touch a filthy trash can in order to discard the paper towel used for drying hands. These are little things that could be easily fixed.

FYI. Last, they do not split checks. They split everything 4 ways for a party of 10.

Final verdict is this place is overpriced outside of Happy Hour.

Really looking forward to our first visit and dinner with friends. The restaurant has a nice open and airy atmosphere. The service was very good, but unfortunately we were extremely unhappy with our entrées.
My Crab cakes were cold and tough… I only ate half of one. My wife had the braised short ribs… they very undercooked, tough and not seasoned at all. Our server asked if she did not like them. She said no they were tough and not eatable… she replied that she would tell the chef, they remained on our bill.
Very disappointed for such a nice place.

If it’s oysters and/or drinks that you want, Seawitch is a nice option. Located on St. Charles Ave, it’s a nicely decorated building with outdoor seating on a patio and balconies (with TVs). The other food items were a miss for us unfortunately. As examples, the Redfish on the Avenue topped with crabmeat was fresh but totally overpowered by way too much green onion, the Lump Crab Toast was not toasted/soggy and the crab had no flavor, and the crawfish cornbread was plain cornbread with an etouffee-type sauce poured on top. As NOLA natives, we just expected better.
The service was great from both the host and our server and the music playing was very enjoyable.

My wife and I chose Seawitch for our first anniversary dinner. We made a reservation for 6 PM and arrived on-time and were promptly seated. Out server was a very nice gentleman and answered all of our questions regarding food and drink. My wife went with the Prosecco and oysters to start. I chose a gumbo and Woodford Reserve. The oysters were perfectly chilled and plump. My gumbo had a perfect dark roux color and was perfectly flavored. My wife then ordered the Redfish entree while I went with the scallops. The Redfish was so delicious. My wife and I loved it. The scallops were perfectly cooked with a lovely sear outside and a perfect cook inside. They were massive scallops so we shared. Too full for desert but happily replete, we wrapped up the evening and now have a lovely memory of our first anniversary and will always come back to Seawitch.

The restaurant is located right on St. Charles so you can get there easily by Uber, car, or trolly. The building is very well kept and we had a great seat on the upstairs balcony overlooking the avenue. We really couldn’t have asked for more. The service is top notch and my wife and I will always sing the establishment’s praises.

Weird addendum….

The musical list was very smooth and great for the overall experience. My compliments to the DJ that put together the set list

One of the best spots for oysters—especially during their happy hour (Monday–Friday, 3–6). It’s a little off the beaten path, but one of the best tips we got in New Orleans was to just take transit everywhere. The cable cars were amazing, and while sightseeing on one, we stumbled across this restaurant.

We ended up eating 72 oysters in one sitting. Their étouffée oyster was incredible, the garlic butter ones were perfect, and the other four dozen we downed raw—fresh, cold, and delicious. The drinks were a little pricey, but they were really tasty.

The staff was fantastic. The oyster shucker actually recognized us from the cable car the day before and welcomed us with, “Hey, I was on the trolley with you!” That was such a fun touch. Our waiter was also wonderful—super kind and even gave us local tips (though sadly we were leaving the next day and couldn’t use them).

Overall: amazing oysters, great staff, and a really memorable experience. Highly recommend.

Some of the best oysters in the city. Their charbroiled oysters are better than any of the places near the French Quarter. Their happy hour is amazing. Suggest coming on the earlier end of happy hour as it starts to get packed towards the end. Great outdoor seating
