Seapot Hot Pot in Sunnyvale offers a fun, interactive AYCE dining experience. You can stick with hot pot or add $5 for the BBQ option, which opens up even more protein choices. The rotating belt is a great touch—veggies, seafood, and other ingredients pass by constantly, and the small portion sizes make it easy to sample a bit of everything without feeling overly stuffed. The plates are refilled often, and the variety is impressive, with items like cuttlefish, razor clams, squid, tiger prawns, and more.

We opted for the premium meat upgrade, but honestly, it didn’t feel worth it since the meat quality didn’t stand out compared to the standard selections. Still, the overall experience is enjoyable, unique, and great for groups.

Seapot is an all-you-can-eat conveyor belt hotpot place with an option to add on BBQ. Our group of 6 made a weekend lunch reservation and had a great time. Our server especially patient and attentive (much better than the San Mateo location), and we didn’t have to wait too long for our meat orders. We didn’t have any concerns with the meat except the rib-eye was noticeably leaner than the wagyu and the beef toro. I had the Thai broth which had a nice sour tang that wasn’t too spicy.

There is a quirk where while most hotpot burner controls are on the side of the table facing you, two of the six burners on our table had the controls on the cooking surface itself which wasn’t obvious – ask your server if you can’t find it.

The sauce bar was extensive with cold appetizers and fruits as well. One concern however is that some of the hotel pans were filled a little too high with sauce and since the end of the sauce ladles hook downwards to keep the ladles from falling in, a few of the ladle ends actually dipped into a neighboring sauce hotel pan.

The restaurant did a decent job keeping the conveyor belt stocked except for the sliced fish, which took longer to come back around. Of course I could have just been unlucky with the tables ahead of us grabbing it. Overall it wasn’t a big deal though with other options passing by each second!

Do not come to seapot with a large party for KBBQ.

We made a reservation for 6:30 and when we got to seapot we were told we were gonna have to wait up to 15min extra for the table. We ended up waiting 30min. The staff told us there were people that were going over the time limit and they couldn’t do much about it.

Finally when we get a table, there is only one grill that will not be enough to cook meat fast enough for a group of 8. Even with cooking as fast as possible everyone was having to wait 5min+ for some food. A new term was created: “Beef Drought” to describe the lengthy periods of time after a round of beef was cooked.

Eh, it’s not common to see an all you can eat BBQ, especially near here, but I think its the reason why it’s popular; and not more so because of its quality. The reservation took so extremely long, and i mean EXTREMELY long for decent food at a high price. The soup was decent and there are different varieties, and the variety of meat is also decent, but i feel like because of how uncommon these sort if restaurants are, they have this prestigious reputation despite giving mediocre food. For example, despite being extremely expensive, you have to wait in a long line just for sauce like your in high school. Further, I think there was only one dessert option and it was these macaroon ice cream which cost $5, which i think is pretty overpriced for the quality and size. Also, if you don’t eat everything, i think you have to pay an extra 20%. All of these combined for lack lustre quality is the reason why i wouldn’t really recommend this place. 4/10

The arrangements for hot pot is good. A lot of crowd and there is a waiting. The supply was quick. The main ordered items were supplied in no time. The taste is satisfactory. The subsidiary items like noodles, mushrooms, quail eggs, mussels, etc are supplied in conveyor belts. Neat and tidy.

Food and service was great, enjoyed the meats and the variety of soup options, also Sake and Soju. The veggies and other items on a conveyor belt is convenient.

But it’s really busy, long wait for the sauce/salad station, it’s hard to manage the crowd, they do their best. We had gone for Saturday dinner, probably the busiest time. Definitely made it convenient by using Yelp wait-list.

Seapot Sunnyvale has been my staple hot pot place for years!

I love the conveyor belt concept because you can try a little bit of everything from different meatballs, mushrooms, tofu, noodles, veggies, and more. I also like how you can also order high-quality cuts of meat. Beef toro is always our go-to order. Our server was attentive and always came at the right time to let us order additional meats. There’s a wide selection of soup bases that you can choose for your individual pot and you could even mix the bases if you wanted to. The diy sauce bar is always well stocked and has lots of different things for you to make your own sauce.

I think this is a great place to have small to large group dinners but do keep in mind that only two people per table could access the conveyor belt. And if you have a group that’s bigger than 8 people, you’ll have to split up into multiple tables.

I’ve gone to Seapot on weekdays and weekends, and it definitely gets very crowded on the weekends. But it’s great that you can join the Yelp waitlist in advance, and you could make a reservation for 6+ people. Highly recommend planning ahead if you plan to come here on the weekend.

There’s a big parking lot but it can be busy during peak hours so allow yourself enough time if you make a reservation and you may need to park in the back and walk around.

Our waitress was pushy and seemed to always have an attitude. She was only nice when she handed the bill to us and once we paid she rushed us out but I didn’t see her rushing anyone else out when they were done. It wasn’t even a busy time when we were done. It was around 9pm and there were plenty of tables they still needed to clear up. We had to wait 1+hr to be seated and to have average service and being rushed out. It’s really not worth eating here.

A solid 5-star! I went there to try out the AYCE lunch special by myself and was pretty satisfied with the experience.

The food quality was really good. I ordered 4 meats for my first round and didn’t make it to the second as the quantity per order was very generous.

There are so many selections on the revolving belt. I tried some seafood, beef tripe, some different veggies and they all came in great quality.

The self-serve sauce bar has plenty options including dipping sauces, cold dishes and fruits. And again, the quality was great.

The service I got was nice and proper. My server came visit at a just-right frequency and provided service with sweet smile 🙂

Love the food, service and atmosphere. I would definitely visit again with my friends.
