Book a table by the window for an ocean view or eat outside around a fireside table! The setting and atmosphere is fabulous!

The grilled scallops under “add ons” are outstanding! Lightly grilled, tender and tasty.

The Sea Smoke, Chef’s Spicy Tuna and St. George Rolls were very fresh and excellent sharing plates.

Restaurant is very clean, fish if fresh and the staff are eager to make everyone happy!

Outstanding Experience at Sea Smoke!

My wife and family had an absolutely incredible evening at Sea Smoke. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, classy, and welcoming! Perfect for a night out by the waterfront.

A huge shoutout to our amazing server, ISABELLA, who went above and beyond to make our night special. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and incredibly attentive. What really stood out was how caring she was about our daughter’s gluten allergy. she double-checked everything with the kitchen, made thoughtful menu adjustments, and made sure our daughter felt comfortable and included. That level of care and attention is something truly special. we made sure to tip her extra because she absolutely deserved it!

The food? Unreal. Fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. You can truly taste the quality and attention in every dish.

If you’re in Halifax and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Sea Smoke is an absolute must. Thank you, Isabella, for making our evening so special you’re a rock star!

10/10 experience! Luciano and Anthony are the best. Incredible service from start to finish. Super attentive, friendly, and made the whole night great. The salmon cream cheese roll was fantastic. Will definitely be back!

The food is ALWAYS consistent. It’s always so damn good!!!! We have never had a bad time here. The portions are worth the price. So much flavor in the meals and such great value for money. Highly recommend the lobster seafood skillet. It’s the true east coast experience.

Side note: we were here for our anniversary last week and told the waiter beforehand and told them while making the reservation, they said they would do something nice for us, but they never got around to it. It wasn’t busy so they probably just forgot.

A lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and flavorful food! Overall, we had a great dining experience — the dishes were well-prepared, and the cocktails were just perfect!
However, I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because a few of the sushi pieces were overly salty, which made them a bit difficult to enjoy.
Our server was wonderful — polite, attentive, and gave us some great recommendations that we really appreciated.
This spot is perfect for a date night or a relaxed evening with friends. It definitely left a positive impression and added a special memory to our time in Halifax!

We stopped for a quick lunch at this restaurant. The patio is on the oceanfront and offers a beautiful view. I had a lobster roll which was delicious and my husband had a Pad Thai, also very tasty. Drinks were cold and they have a great selection of wines, sparkling wines, beers, ciders, cocktails… Great place to rest while strolling around Halifax waterfront.

I booked a reservation several weeks ago for a patio fire table for 2 for 7pm on a Wednesday. We were surprised and disappointed to learn when we arrived that the reservation is for inside only, the patio is actually first come, first served, so we had to wait in a line with others who did not have reservations. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated. Our waitress was lovely but service was slow. Cocktails were delicious and came fairly quickly, our appetizer sushi roll was tasty but came at 8:30pm (we were there for 1.5 hours at this point). Our mains were also delicious, apart from the corn that was overcooked, tough and stuck to our teeth, and the veggies, while seasoned nicely, were hard and one step away from raw, particularly the brocollini. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the seafood was tasty. By the time we flagged down our waitress for our bill, we had been there for 2.5 hours, with much waiting in between. Thankfully our seat was right along the waterfront so we could people watch as we waited, even though it got chilly once the sun went down – we didn’t expect to be there so long and didn’t bring jackets.

I’m a seafood lover and a traveler, so when I tasted exceptional dish, I know. They served the best mussels I’ve ever tasted. Their oyster scallop salmon roe and lobster lollipops were creatively deliciously done!! Beautiful views of the Halifax waterfront in a perfect day!

Lovely atmosphere. Visited last night with a friend and we were able to get a fire table while having dinner and drinks.

I recommend the sea smoke old fashioned, it was soo good.

We both had the surf and turf as an entree. My steak was a little bit overdone but it was still delicious.

I wasn’t really a fan of the Korean fried chicken, they just tasted like batter and didn’t have enough sauce.

Servers could do better at engaging with the customers, especially when you’re getting tipped on a $300 bill.

Will return when I’m in Halifax again!

We splurged on dinner here since it was our last night in Calgary. Decent and part of the allure was the fire pit to be honest. Their gochujang chicken was dry and sad. A good spot regardless but Asians would be quite disappointed at the quality of its “Asian” food.
