Expected this to be another tourist trap on the water but it was actually great! Local beer selection. Fried clams were surprisingly tasty and not rubbery. Nice sauce served with them. Got the salad and a bowl of soup clam chowder. One of the best chowders I had on our trip. Friend got the daily salmon special that was good. If you’re hesitant or don’t know where to go and wants good views PLUS good food go here!

We ate upstairs and out on the deck. We had the chowder Fries as an appetizer. We weren’t thrilled with them. Unsure if it’s bc we only ever had them in Bar Harbor which could just be different than Salem. Our fries were not crunchy at all they were very soggy and the chowder had tons of onions. My husband’s meal was great. He had fish topped with crab meat. I had the seafood pie. The scallops and lobster were amazing I just felt the shrimp needed some help. They were so small compared to the rest of the seafood and were a little in the tough side so I’m guessing they were overcooked. All together the taste of everything was really good. Our server was amazing!

This place was awesome! We had the clam chowder, popcorn shrimp, and fish tacos. All were fabulous! Local tap beers were delicious. Views & service were both top notch. If we didn’t live in Minneapolis, we’d be frequent patrons there!

Recommend by someone and this was a great choice. Wife had the lobster roll and I had the fried fish sandwich. Both were really good. The atmosphere of Sea Level is great. Alexa was our waitress and was amazing. Had some great conversations and she gave us some pointers for our short stay in Salem and also for our journey to Maine.

We had delicious food and drinks with good service…it was all going so well. Then the server didn’t like the tip that we left (20%) and became very rude demanding more money. I have never experienced this before and it was an unpleasant end to what was otherwise a lovely meal.

Husband and I were in MA for a one-day errand and knew we had to swing by Sea Level in Salem. We used to go to the location in Newburyport regularly when we lived in the area and this location was equally as amazing! We were seated on the deck and really loved looking out over the water. It was the perfect setting for our seafood lunch.

Our server was great. However, I was disappointed in the food. We got the baked oysters, fried clams, wedge salad and the stuffed lobster, which came with corn on the cob and roasted potatoes. The lobster seemed undercooked to me and the stuffing quickly becomes a soggy mess, the potatoes had an over the top amount of Old Bays seasoning. The oysters had no flavor. Clams were good, and so was the salad. We both ordered coke to drink, it was so flat it was undrinkable. So, in the end, this is not a place I would return to, unfortunately.

On a recent trip to Salem we decided to have dinner at Sea Level. I did not disappoint. I had the clam chowder, baked scallops, and the Butterfly Peach drink. All were so wonderful! our server, was friendly, had fun with us as we debated on just which dish we would get and food was out in a reasonable time. I loved looking over the harbor was we dined on the top deck.
