A market for local catches & a casual, sit-down cafe for fish sandwiches, shrimp, chowders & more.

Walking in you get hit with the strong smell of a fish market. We got a variety of items and was not impressed. They play it very safe with their seasoning on their fish and prawns, it might not even have any salt. The quality is there but the lack of seasoning makes everything taste a little bland. We did like the chips, coleslaw, and rockfish tacos. I would recommend the tacos if you’re looking for something more seasoned/flavorful. Something concerning I saw was the dead lobster in the tank near the front. I would recommend to the owners to clean the tank at your earliest convenience. Overall, I think it’s a decent spot with okay prices. Bon appetite!

If you’re looking for a great spot that won’t break the bank like some of the places closer to Cannery Row, Sea Harvest is a fantastic choice. We stopped by for a quick snack and ordered a cup of their clam chowder along with some garlic bread. Both were delicious! The garlic bread was perfectly crispy with a nice sprinkle of cheese, and it paired perfectly with the creamy chowder. Make sure to grab a seat on the outside back patio! It’s such a quaint, relaxing spot to enjoy your food. Highly recommend it for a quick, affordable, and tasty bite.

I was very excited to try this place – read rave reviews. Waited for my sister to visit from out of town so we could take her. The place was packed and vibrant (we went for dinner on New Year’s Day). Service was great and efficient. We ordered the halibut and chips and the fried calamari.
Food came out hot and fast, and looked really good. The calamari was tender and delicious. The garlic bread was just right.
The fish – the halibut we paid $28 + tax for – was the consistency of chicken. It was profoundly overcooked. I get it – the place was super busy. But for the price you pay for the halibut, that’s just insane that the fish could be that overcooked. Since it was slammed, we did not take the food back. Maybe we should’ve. The batter was nothing to write home about, either, but forgivable. The overcooked halibut was just a waste.
I will return because the reviews are generally so good, but the trip was just really unfortunate. Will update my review if the next trip is better.

If you want an authentic Monterey experience and avoid all of the tourist restaurants eat here. The fish is caught fresh daily and meals while simple will be some of the best meals you’ve have ever tasted. I had the rock fish. I can still taste the fish melting on my mouth.

Wow. I was hesitant to go to this place at first but I’m so glad we did. The food was 10/10, we started eating before I was able to get pictures because we were pretty starving after a day at the aquarium but it was all exquisite. The fish for the fish and chips was crispy and cooked to perfection. The clam chowder bread bowl was literally overflowing with clam chowder and the bread was actually soft, usually when I get bread bowls the clam chowder only fills up 3/4 of the bowl and the bread is hard as a rock. The cocktail shrimp was huge, literally everything we all ordered was great and fairly priced. I will say the brownies left something to be desired, they were pretty crumbly and not very sweet. Overall would absolutely recommend coming here and I will be back.

Casual, and absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly. My brother raved about the prawns. The fries were soft inside, crispy outside (maybe battered or twice fried?). My SIL approved of the coleslaw, and she claims to judge places by their coleslaw. They had a wide selection of fish, but we got regular fish and chips and my brother, the one who loved the prawns, got the combination and chips. It was the perfect meal after out day at the Aquarium.

Not on the Main Street but it’s a gem. Locals know about its tourist won’t go to it. But they’re missing out. I happened upon by chance and what great food they have. Talk about fresh, never had fresh grilled salmon before and it’s a game changer. Meat was moist and tender. Shrimp were made well and cooked perfectly. Fran a menu, order at counter and then sit. Loved the fries it’s like lightly battered and fried.

You go to Sea Harvest for fresh seafood. And you get fresh seafood there.
We ordered a deep fried artichoke heart and a combination & chips. The appetizer is nothing to write home about, but uses very good ingredient and not too heavily battered. The combination is generously portioned, including white fish, prawn and calamari. Fish and prawn are both very fresh and tasty, better than your average fish & chips. Calamari, on the other hand, is a surprising disappointment. Nothing “bad” to speak of – for example, it is not excessively battered. It has a forgettable texture. Hard to describe, but it definitely doesn’t taste like calamari. French fries from the dish is also excellent. But the coleslaw, also coming with the order, is among the worst I have tasted anywhere.
The restaurant has a fish stand at the entrance where you can buy raw seafood. Food looks fantastic. There are themed external decors but interior decor is a little bland. When we came in near noon on a Sunday, there were still plenty of open seats indoors. There is also an outdoor seating area.
Customers go to the counter and order food from the simple menu. They are given a pager, and expected to pick up food when it flashes and beeps. So, it is very strange to read rave reviews about excellent service! This is very much a self-service restaurant. Did I go to a different restaurant from what those people went to?
For their very fresh and tasty fish and prawn, I may come back. I’m not sure if I have enough courage to try their calamari another time. Definitely avoid their coleslaw.

The calamari was AMAZING! We also got oysters and grilled sea bass – both were fresh and tasted great. Got Cajun seasoning for the sea bass, not very strong in flavor but I didn’t mind. Shared all of this between two people and it was a good amount, full but not stuffed.
Steamed veggies were subpar but it’s not like that is what you’re coming here for.

What a little gem! Just a block away from the hustle of Cannery Row, this little dive was a perfect fit for families or adults that just want a meal without all the fancy trimmings.
It’s a fish market/deli type place with indoor and outdoor seating. A little extra leg room and space for everyone.
Food took about 15mins and you’re given a beeper so you can wander and relax while you wait.
Cute little patio, protected from the wind, with shade umbrellas or sunny spots.
The basic fish and chips was very superior to any I’ve had elsewhere. Fresh and filling. I can still taste it. Chunky fish full of flavor. Yum.
*Warning: My coleslaw had sunflower seeds in it, for those of you with allergies. But it was scrumptious!
