I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Screpesi’s Sandwich Shop. This place has really gone downhill since the older, friendly staff left. The atmosphere and customer service that once made it great are clearly gone.
I specifically ordered a sandwich with no onions because I am highly allergic to them. When I received my sandwich, it had onions on it. I immediately called to explain the situation. The employee who answered put me on hold, came back, and said they were busy — then hung up on me.
When I called back and tried to explain that this was an allergy issue and not just a preference, I was told that “light onions were put on it so it’s not so bad.” That response was not only dismissive, but dangerous. An allergy is an allergy — there is no such thing as “a little bit” being okay.
When I attempted to explain again, the employee told me to “shut up,” stated she was the senior employee there, and said she didn’t have time for me. I was also denied the opportunity to speak with a manager.
After reading other recent reviews, it seems I’m not the only one experiencing issues. It’s sad to see a place that once had such welcoming, lovable staff fall to this level of customer service.
Unfortunately, you’ve permanently lost my business — just like I lost my money on that sandwich I couldn’t even eat.

We were just in tonight, 2/23, right before close to pickup an online order. Expectedly, the two young ladies that were working weren’t super pumped that we walked in 10 minutes before close but we’re immediately ready to help us. They were clearly relieved when we mentioned we ordered online and began joking with us even more through the pickup process.
They were both joking about who made the sandwiches and so on and I was sure to tell them we had very high expectations (jokingly). Mind you, we get sandwiches (soley from Screpesi’s) fairly often and have never had a bad experience. But tonight’s sandwiches were the best we’ve had in a while, hands down!
This is a message for their managers and the two young ladies that served is. This is not necessarily for others to base their future experience on (though they should). I just wanted to say that they did an exceptional job, from customer service to the quality of the sandwiches they delivered right before close and deserve to be recognized for it! They did great and me and my family had a great dinner thanks to those two and Screpesi’s Sandwich Shop!

The young boy made a great sandwich yesterday! The roll is fresh and airy, and the crunchy inside makes your sandwich delicious. Love going there for a good sandwich craving. Very nice young man, but the girl was crabby! Been going to them for our sandwiches here and down in Delaware! Nick was a great man the owner!

Went to get two sandwiches and an A-Treat. The sandwiches were great until the A-treat that was just above room temperature exploded over both hoagies after buying it two minutes ago. We called to see if anything could be done about this issue since the soda was not shaken up by me AND both basically whole sandwiches were soaked. Was told that it was not their fault and they were closing at 8 even though their google page says closing at 9, therefore they were not able to do anything for us. I’m disappointed in the customer service of a place with such great sandwiches. Used to go a lot and now will probably not go back again because of this situation.

Ordered two sandwiches, mid afternoon on a Saturday. Service was great and the sandwiches were good, bread/rolls are from Liscio’s Bakery (Sicklerville, NJ). It’s pretty simple inside and out, if they didn’t have the sign out front I may have missed it.

Been eating their food for 40+ years. Always consistently delicious. Hot oil peppers are the best . I used to drive an hour passing many sandwich shops because they really are the best!

Never had a bad experience here. Staff is always friendly. My orders are always correct, ready for pick up at the designated time. Still our go to for the best Italian sandwiches.

The BREADDDD, so soft and fluffy. The way the sandwich is prepared makes the taste buds pop. Great sandwich here! Stop in and the whole family is there working together. It’s great and orderly service. Shoutout to Michael his service is excellent.

Love Screpesi’s ❤️ I’ve been going there since I was a child early 70’s. The sandwiches are all delicious and they make them the same as back in the day. My #1 place for subs I recommend them to everyone i know.
