The road has busy traffic- the only downfall.
Tried the boudin balls, meat pies and curds appetizer. Meat pie was ok, like a pasty. The boudin ball was like chopped bratwurst with a breading then deep fried. The curds were good. We tried the classic burger- that was great. Large and tasty. The fries were excellent. Beer batter style I think.
We were here mid day but they have a stage and large projector for sports games.
The peach/ lemonade drink was delicious, like twisted tea.
I had coffee (amazing) a bloody Mary (again, amazing) and the berry French toast (delicious!!). The music started right at 11:00 and the two-piece jazz band were very talented! They played a variety of modern AND classical/old school jazz.
After brunch, I roamed the outside grounds and interacted with the goats which was actually really cool. I love the fact this place is both family/doggy friendly, but also a cool place to bring your significant other for a date.
I’ll definitely be coming back again… this place is awesome!
The staff is insanely friendly and understood how badly I wanted to pack my bags and move in just for the goats. For a small fee you can purchase a bag of goat feed and feed them. Make sure to pay attention to the small ones. They are usually hiding under their enrichment items and want some love too.
They have a great beer, wine, cocktail selection. This time I stuck with the beer but next time (yes there will be a next time) I will definitely try one of their cocktails.
The menu gives off a Cajun/Louisiana vibe but the hubs and I always go for a board. This way we can try multiple items. The pretzel was HUGE! There were three types of amazing sausage, and some pickled veggies. If you love okra, you will love their pickled okra. If you don’t, I bet you will still love that okra. It is well balanced and tasty. Of COURSE we had to get the fried cheese curds because who doesn’t like little balls of fried cheese? (Take a pill if you are lactose intolerant. It is worth it!)
Overall an amazing experience. They have shirts for sale and some cute items you can buy. Definitely worth the drive. We WILL be back. Again, don’t forget to give love to the goats… tell them I sent you. After all, we made a connection! 🙂
Great place to relax with friends and loved ones, listen to some live music, and go say hi to the goats.
The genre of food I would describe as “High-effort Southern Snacks/shareables”, as it’s mostly sandwiches and shareable appetizers on offer (they do offer salads, gumbo, etc. but it’s a minority), and they put more effort on presentation and certain ingredients than an average diner would for example.
Recommendation: you would be silly to ignore the Muffuletta sandwich as it is the king of kings of sandwiches, and they pull it off well here. Hats off to them.
Try the House Margarita!
