Screamin Mimi’s Pizza is one of those downtown Savannah spots that just gets it. The prices are refreshingly reasonable, especially for the location, and the pizza is genuinely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without trying too hard. It’s the perfect place to grab a slice whether you’re exploring downtown or just craving solid pizza done right. Casual, tasty, and dependable—definitely worth a stop.

Last night visiting the area and stumbled on this PIZZA GEM!!!!! Busy holiday weekend and this crew of 4 was making magic happen AND Worth the wait!!! Amazing customer service. If you’re getting it to go, call ahead! Got 2 slices of pepperoni pizza to go, perfectly cooked, crunchy crust, thin, right amount of grease! Delicious. Keep supporting this wonderful local business!

I’m SCREAMIN about Mimi’s Pizza!

FOOD> I had a Greek salad with no banana peppers and Italian dressing with a slice of mushrooms pizza.
The slices are HUGE from their 18″ pizza and the mushrooms were fresh. The crust was light as air and crispy and had the perfect amount of cheese sauce and toppings. It tasted like pizza I’ve had in Italy and New York! MAGNIFICO

The salad was delicious with two kinds of olives tomatoes, onions, and normally it has banana peppers on it. The Greek dressing was Ken’s and they gave us 2 packets

LOCATION> This was in a bustling little shopping center just a short very enjoyable and scenic walk from our hotel the AC Marriott on the River front.

ATMOSPHERE> This cool shop reminds me of pizza parlors in New York City for sure! There is a beautiful tribute to Mimi and the chefs making the pie are right there in the mix. The counter is covered with fun stickers from all around. The restaurant has a fun cool local energetic vibe.

SERVICE> The sweet Gal at the counter was friendly and helped us navigate our first time.
You order at the counter then have a seat anywhere.
NOTE: There are a few tables outside as well to enjoy.

VALUE> If I lived here or had taken an Air BNB with a fridge I DEFINITELY would have gotten a whole pizza to nosh on, but as I only had a modest hotel fridge I happy went for a slice option. The price for the cheese slice was only $4.85 and it was .95 for the extra topping
The large salad was $13.01 but it was HUGE!!!! We literally feasted on it
As a little Gal one slice and salad was the perfect meal.

I will definitely be dreaming about that pizza for a minute, will be heading back to Mimi’s, and screamin about how delicious it is Mangia!

Disappointing Quality and Poor Execution – Screamin Mimi Pizza (Savannah, GA)

I was extremely disappointed with the slice I received from Screamin Mimi Pizza, and the attached photo clearly shows why.

Visual & Structural Issues
• Severe topping slide-off: Nearly all of the toppings have migrated to the very tip of the slice, leaving the top half almost bare. This is a clear sign of either improper baking, excessive grease, or the pizza sitting too long before serving.
• Collapsed structure: The slice has completely lost its integrity. A properly made slice should hold its toppings and maintain balance—this one visibly failed under its own weight.
• Uneven distribution: Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers are clumped together at the bottom, instead of being evenly spread. This suggests rushed assembly or careless topping placement.

Cheese & Sauce Problems
• Inconsistent cheese melt: The cheese appears uneven—over-melted and greasy in some areas, sparse in others. It lacks the uniform stretch and coverage expected from a quality slice.
• Watery or separated sauce: The sauce looks thin and broken in spots, contributing to the soggy appearance and causing toppings to slide rather than adhere.

Crust & Bake Quality
• Under-supported crust: While the crust edge looks moderately baked, the base appears unable to support the toppings. This often indicates incorrect dough hydration, insufficient bake time, or reheating issues.
• Grease saturation: The slice shows clear signs of grease pooling, especially near the bottom, which accelerates topping slippage and makes the slice unpleasant to eat by hand.

Overall Experience
This slice looks hastily prepared and poorly handled, more like leftover pizza reheated without care than a fresh, quality product. Pizza should be appetizing, structurally sound, and evenly composed—none of which applies here.

For a restaurant that presumably takes pride in its pizza, this level of execution is unacceptable. Based on this experience alone, I would not recommend Screaming Mimi Pizza and would seriously question their quality control and standards.

Photo attached for reference — the issues are clearly visible and speak for themselves.

Best authentic New York pizza I’ve foundin Savannah hands-down, staff is super friendly and they make their own dough. The cheesesteak was the best I’ve had in Savannah as well. Must try local spot

Dining with Dirk: Never have I ever Sunday Edition. Last night’s Thomas Rhett concert left me craving a sub this morning. I opted for the chicken Parmesan with provolone. It was cooked to order and arrived steaming hot with melted cheese. The sandwich was great, large enough to save half for later. I highly recommend this no-frills place for pizza and sub lovers. The customer service was more NY-style than SAV, offering an authentic experience… — eating lunch at Screamin’ Mimi’s : Serving Up Savannah’s Best Pizza.

Me and my husband went on our honeymoon. Our tour guide from the Old Town Trolley recommend this restaurant to us and they did not disappoint. It reminded my husband of the pizzas he used to have growing up when he lived in NYC, so it brought some nostalgia.

Great pizza! We go every time we go to Savannah. I had a calzone today. It is enough to feed a couple of people! The sauce is great, too.

We came here and ordered the calzone (with added meatballs at the server’s recommendation) and a slice of the margarita and Hawaiian pizza. Food was delicious!!

The calzone doesn’t list the protein options, but the server let us know any of the proteins are available for it. The meatballs were a hit with the family, even though a little messy.

The margarita pizza didn’t have the dollops of fresh mozzarella expected, but was good nonetheless.

The Hawaiian pizza had finely diced ham and pineapple, and the crust was the star of the show!

Get a dipping sauce for your slice due to it possibly being a little dry.
