This coffee shop is a sweet tooth’s dream, with an array of amazing desserts to pair with your drink. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, but the real star here, the thing that truly stands out, is the cinnamon bun. Soft, fluffy, perfectly spiced, and just the right amount of sweetness, it’s the kind of treat you find yourself thinking about long after it’s gone. They have also great selection of salads, wraps and sandwiches but we stopped just for a quick coffee break so I didn’t try anything else.

Cute cafe that has great food great drinks in a cute corner of Fashion Island. I would go here to meet up with friends or just myself working on a laptop. Try a lot items on their menu and most of them makes me happy!

Best Food and Best Fries ever, just tried for the first time and wow , had salmon Salad I love it for my lunch break. Also had chicken Caesar wrap it’s usually not my top pick, one of the guys told me to get that and it tastes better than I expected. Thank you all for your hard work

So, I came back 9 months later and had the Gluten Free Coconut Passionfruit Cake! This is gluten free? Wow. Delicious! Moist and the passion fruit is subtle. Once again, the amount of sugar is just right. Not overly sweet.
Craving some sweets and this cute little cafe hit the spot. I ordered a slice of carrot cake and a slice of the lemon cake. Two of my favorite flavors! It was not too sweet so that was a nice balance of flavor.
Will have to visit again next time for some other menu items that looked delicious!

DEFACTO GLUTEN FREE CAFE in Newport Beach! So, I’ve had celiac for a few years now. I love documenting my favorite places that don’t put my intestines into a coma. This place is so legit. The quality is just as the namesake goes; SCRATCH. The manager Tyler is super amazing. Always helping out and ensuring a wonderful environment for every guest here. I feel welcomed as a family member here. They cater to allergies very seriously. That’s what the world needs right now, and I’m all here for it.
They made me a gluten free burger using gluten free sandwich bread. That’s not even on the menu! That’s how you know they care. Time to go taste test this beauty. Might edit to update on the flavor, but I’ve already had the pastries so I know it’ll be delicious haha.

The English muffins they bake here are out of this world! We love coming for brunch and grabbing a bag to go so we can make sandwiches with them during the week. Everything we have tried here has been amazing.

Cute French style bakery with assorted pastries, and all kinds of brunch and lunch options! They have croissants, eclairs, cupcakes, cookies, salads, sandwiches, coffee, iced teas, clam chowder and so much more! Everything is reasonably priced as well for fashion island! Really enjoyed the vibes, nice sitting area outside. Got an iced lavender milk tea and it was very unique and delicious! Definitely coming back to try their brunch and pastries!

Sent my husband here to get coffee while we waited in line for Santa nearby. He ordered a macchiato with whole milk, watched the barista make it with almond milk and asked her to remake it because I don’t like almond milk. She first lied when he asked if it was whole milk, and then he told her he watched her make it with almond milk. She then went to the back, tossed the drink, and started chatting with her coworker saying “who even orders coffee with whole milk” loud enough for him to hear obviously. Then when she remade the coffee it was leukwarm, not even hot. I’ve been here multiple times and typically have a decent experience but this woman makes me not want to come back.

I’m usually very fair when I even bother to review a location, so take this as you may. I literally just walked out, and I’m not a very happy customer. I haven’t even taken the time to try the cookies I bought. This rating is solely based on the service. I went in with the intention to just buy (prepackaged) cookies but saw on their menu that they had a lavender milk tea (sounds refreshing). Thus, I ordered one. I normally give cash tips after a service has been rendered, so I opted out of the prompted tip option on the register, my receipt printed, and the order for the tea, at exactly 3:03pm. A few minutes went by, and my name was not called. Meanwhile, customers that came after me are getting their drinks. I approached an associate and asked for my drink, and they claimed the order didn’t print. I was called for my order at 3:22pm.
Is it possible that my order didn’t print? Perhaps, except I saw it, and it was put on the side. Was the delay the result of not leaving the tip before the service was even provided?
Regardless, it’s not quite the best first impression when you have to wait 20 min for a simple drink.
