I originally came to Darra planning to go to Darra Takeaway, but the line at Scott’s Takeaway caught my eye — so I changed my mind and joined it. And I’m so glad I did!
My partner and I both ordered the crispy pork Bánh Mì, and it was honestly worth the wait. The bread was perfectly baked. The filling didn’t look like much at first, but it was the perfect amount. Everything paired together so well. It was light to eat but still super filling.
The pork was sliced thin and wasn’t dry at all, and the salad was really fresh. I asked for just a little bit of chilli, and they actually gave me just a little bit of chilli (which never happens haha).
Definitely recommend joining the line and trying one of these — totally worth it!

I usually go to another place along this strip but they were closed today so I gave these guys a go and didn’t disappoint! The bread was crispy on the outside soft and light on the inside. I thought the filling was a little slim but it actually was a perfect amount. I would definitely come back here for a banh mi anytime!

After reading all the raving posts and reviews my expectations were extremely high, so I felt disappointed with what I ordered and received, especially considering the other pictures of people’s food. I ordered the crispy pork banh mi roll and chicken banh mi roll, both with pate. Flavourwise they were both pretty good, but fillings wise they were lacking unfortunately. I wouldn’t rush back there as it seems there’s plenty of competition close by.

I have had my fair share of banh mi throughout my life I can say with full certainty that Scotts Road Takeaway is the best. The mayo they use gives their banh mi a nice subtle garlic flavour and it’s almost like you’re eating a banh mi made of garlic bread.
Whenever I’m in the area I either bring my family or order a few banh mi to share at home. Absolutely delicious.

Expect a 5/10 minute wait as they get quite busy at lunch time.

Affordable and delicious! One of the best banh mi thit (pork bread rolls $5.5) in town. Was busy when we stopped by for lunch on Saturday but the wait wasn’t bad. Vietnamese iced coffee was decent and at $2.50, can’t go wrong. Will be getting this combo again! Keep it up guys
