I really enjoyed the experience of coming to this restaurant. The menu is simple and the wooden interior is very welcoming. I had the beef brisket with Hash and a delicious potato salad. The sauce is delicious and I look forward to bringing my friends and family here.

Sconyers Bar-B-Que is the premier place for BBQ! From feeling like you’re going to Grandma, Aunties house, to the relaxing front porch and bridge, to the ” baby you need to eat! ” portions this restaurant is the place to eat in Augusta. If you’re here for the Masters or the Hospital, do yourself a favor and best here. They have a drive-thru, they cater, and they take every excuse for you not to get their food out of the equation. The only downside, and it’s not even a bad one, is they are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They can sit 400 folks at one time, so no, I doubt the wait is long. If you do have to wait, just have a seat on the front porch and watch the fish swim in the pond, while the flowers bloom in the ” front yard”. When you do get seated, it’s not a long wait for your food, ticket time could be 10 to 15 minutes, when they were busy when we went it was more like under 10 minutes. Three of us shared the Plantation platter, I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with the hash and rice, with coleslaw. My son ordered the T-loin with hash and rice, and cole slaw. Y’all, they do not play around with their portions, I had to take pictures of my plate, and I was in disbelief. The ribs were mouth-watering and delectable, and the coleslaw complimented the ribs, it tasted like they used paprika, but not enough to make it too spicy. My son had the chopped T-loin and almost cleaned his plate, but had to stop because he hit his wall. The 3 ladies shared the plantation platter and didn’t even make a dent in it, there was so much food. Grandma had a 1/4 chicken plate and all I heard from her was, “Mercy” and didn’t hear anything from her, till she was done eating, half her plate. If you are starving, and only eat one meal, this is the place to go, cause you can make 2 meals out of it.

Really cool atmosphere and huge portions. Good food including our plantation platter with pork, (just 2) ribs, brisket, chicken, hash, and potato salad, enough for 3 people to share at $31.

As a kid living in Augusta, going to Sconyers was a big deal.. I mean, they catered The White House! Now, in my 50’s came down to visit my dad, and I wanted to get some of that BBQ. The place is a gorgeous, rustic wooden cabin with a very cute interior. Our server was fantastic. Quick and attentive. I always lived the hash, and it tasted the same as I remember. Just was a little disappointed with the rest, not bad, but not top BBQ. First, it serves kind of like all stopped onto a plate that’s a bit too small, so it’s overflowing, but everything can get easily mixed together. There were only 2 BBQ sauces that we thought were ketchup and mustard, being in yellow and red bottles. They brought bread out, but each piece was wrapped in plastic. They were a stiff, and we had no butter. Potatoe Salad and Cole slaw was good. Give it a try, it’s good, but I think my childhood expectations might have been a bit high

Having read all the reviews stating “it’s the best BBQ in the US”, I was expecting a truly delicious culinary experience… Unfortunately not. The food was pretty much average. Maybe my expectations were too high? I had the chopped BBQ brisket, which came with “hash” (give that a skip…) they only had 3 BBQ sauces. The restaurant decor is beautiful. If you come, come for how beautiful it is, and expect average food, then you’ll probably enjoy it more than I did.

Had not been there in several years, and I cannot tell you why. Made a visit back last night and what have I been thinking? It was awesome, just like I remember. Mr. Sconyer’s was there, shaking hands. We had a blast, and will be there often in the future.
