Love Sconyers! Food was great-once we got it. Amazing atmosphere.
Service was the worst Ive ever seen here. The waitress stood talking and laughing with another table for over 15 minutes while we sat watching and waiting for our food and another table waited for her to come take their order. Total wait for food was nearly 25 minutes! Not the Usual ! Usually the wait is about 5 minutes!

I got the plantation platter with ribs, sliced brisket, chopped pork, chicken, and “hash”

Chicken and Ribs – perfect, ribs maybe a little overdone because the bone fell apart on one. Glazed with a vinegar sauce, I don’t normally like glazed but this was great.
Brisket – dry, not very smoky at all. They offered chopped with sauce or sliced, I understand why they do chopped by default now.
Potato salad – decent if a bit plain. The pickles on top were sweet.
Hash – it’s served on a bed of rice. It’s kind of hard to describe as someone who isn’t from the area… it’s like if you turned pulled pork into the consistency of refried beans… It’s not very flavorful, not too many spices etc. I’m sure people who grew up with it love it, but honestly it’s not that good and I wouldn’t order it again (except that all their plates come with it…)
Overall – good spread, a lot of food (I have a bunch of leftovers), and great service. would definitely go again, but definitely not for the full spread.

2026-02: After living in the CSRA for over a decade, I recently had the chance to finally try some of Sconyers BBQ. I’ve been twice and will be back in no time. The hash is excellent (not Brunswick Stew). The Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and Chipped Pork are all very tasty! The drive-thru can have a long line, but it has moved fairly quickly both times I went and you get to look at some pretty things, interesting things, and part of south Augusta while in line waiting.

Arrived about 11:30 am on a Saturday and had no wait time to be seated. There were a lot of great menu options and our waitress was friendly and helpful. Food Arrived and was extremely tasty without the need for additional sauces–though they were available. The decor was a themed for a log cabin and “old-fashioned” homestead-style, and it worked. It is a great option for you to consider for a BBQ experience.

My first time ever there, been watching their commercials forever and decided to go tonight. We got the sampler platter and it feed me and my wife plus we had leftovers to bring home. Ribs, brisket, BBQ chicken, potato salad and best turkey I’ve ever tasted. The staff was attentive and very friendly and could cut up with you, we met Larry Sconyers and he was a wonderful person. Took the time to talk to us and asked questions about us. I loved the personal touch. I’m definitely going back and enjoy this place again. Great first visit, thanks Mr Larry Sconyers and staff. Our server tonight was very good .
I loved the turkey so much I bought some and brought it home with me. More to try and replicate the juicy fantastic flavors and perfectly cooked turkey.

I love the brisket and the chop barbecue sandwiches. Moist and tender is an understatement. I can not get enough of the darn brisket. After while I might blow up. The tea is very good also. My husband wanted to dine in last weekend for the first time and the service was excellent. We normally go through the drive-thru but I definitely enjoyed being able to dine in.

I haven’t been here in quite a while sometimes the service was really slow. But I went through drive through tonight, and it was not only fast but on the money. i wasn’t sure what I wanted and Terry, the drive thru Waitress, steered me onto the right direction and was quick and smart? And I can’t say enough about her. i worked food and beverage in this town for over twenty years, and I wish I had twenty of her in my restaurants!
When I came up to the drive through window and was waiting on my food. I could see her working fast. And calculating every next move efficiently.
And utmost respectfully and smart. When I asked for an extra hot sauce she sold me a bottle,
Effortlessly, and made one and made me want to buy ten more.
Not to rant, but she makes me want to open another restaurant and hire ten more people like her. I don’t know how you work.Your pay structure but, you should definitely bump her up and pay and give her all the hours wants. I will most assuredly recommend coming back to your restaurant because of that one employee! remember, it’s the small things in life that make an impression

This place is a local institution and extremely popular. Probably the nicest waitresses in the whole area. Prices are reasonable and the quality of bbq is definitely excellent. My only complaint was one of my ribs in the plantation platter was pretty puny.

Recently moved here and this was the first restaurant we went to. The meat was good (I got the Turkey) and I loved the hot bbq sauce. There is somewhat of an eerie vibe here, and the waitress was a little stern. The menu prices are not the same as what you get charged either. My plate was $15 on the menu but at the register I was charged $20 before the tip. We will probably not be returning but we didn’t have a bad experience.

The food is terrible. Had “brisket” and it was literally like the toughest roast beef you could ever imagine. It was so tough it literally flossed my teeth with every bite. The potato salad was gross as was the coleslaw. It’s unfortunate because their sauces are great but the food is terrible. The hash is even disgusting. 0/10 do not waste the time or money. Service was great. Food was terrible. Local staple is a lie. More like those without taste buds kind of staple.
